QUOTE (fightscoreollector @ Jan 18 2012, 03:48 PM) *
asking them to discard the Amir khan re-match they ordered.

very interesting indeed as whether the WBA say yes or no its wide open to what each fighter does next....

IF the WBA say no to the rematch the you will probably see Peterson take on Pacquiao or more likely Bradley.....Khan will probably move up in weight

IF the WBA say yes to the rematch then Peterson might still say no...so who does Amir fight for the belt....well by all rights it has to be the regular champion...maidana....that means Khan moving up to 147 lbs then as he has no interest in fighting Maidana again.....Peterson will probably still fight Pacquiao or Bradley

This is interesting! I would still like to see a rematch on neutral grounds with unbiased officials.

Jack

According to GBP and Team Khan, if Lamont doesn't respond/agree, then they will move forward. Let's see how this plays out...

It seems Khan can't let go of this, as Peterson now wants the WBA to overturn the mandated rematch. Khan, will no longer fight for the IBF world title, because he alleges that not all of the IBF officials involved in the fight were going to be present at the appeal hearing to give testimony. More here:

Khan has options. A rematch with Peterson, regardless of what belts would be on the line would still be a good fight. Or even Maidana, whom I believe beat Khan in a nail-biter and thriller of a first fight.

Jack

PS. Note that Michael Welsh is NOT a judge, which was incorrectly reported in this article. He was the WBA Supervisor for the fight.
