I'm a bit out of it right now, but hell, a Marcos Maidana vs Josesito Lopez would be CRAZY! Lopez has made a name for himself at WW against a guy that Maidana beat at 140 to make himself known...what better for GBP to make it up to us boxing fans, than to make this fight?
Of course this would take place at 147...what do you guys have for this one? I'll share my thoughts later...just wanna know what you all think. Update: The bout has been set June 8th at the Home Depot Center in LA. |

This is one I'd love to see. I think that Lopez is a solid 147 guy. I dont think Maidana has really grown into the weight yet. Lopez D12. Lopez and Khan would also be a great one. Just hope Lopez has something left after the thrashing that Mexico Red gave him.

Too bad Khan and Lopez fell apart because of the weight, I would've liked to have seen that fight. But apparently Lopez-Maidana is being discussed now and I think this is an even better fight. It will be an all out, balls to the wall kind of fight and it probably won't go to the scorecards

I like this fight, fan friendly and competitive. I like maidana in this one but with a match up like this no one loses.
The winner should face ortiz |

Good points guys!
I gave this one to Maidana by way of a close and controversial decision. Maidana can take a punch, and he's hella active nowadays during fights. Not only is he active, but he shows decent boxing skills, and not just walking into punches to wear the other guy down. Lopez has just as much grit, but he doesn't take punches as well as Maidana. I like Lopez, but his pride gets the best of him, and he ends up exchanging with guys who have more power than him (Ortiz and Canelo). Sometimes he lands, and pretty much waits for the other guy to throw back...not good against the Maidanas of the world. I just see Lopez landing a lot of body shots (which drift low from time to time), and getting a point deduction, which throws off the cards. He'll only get this point deduction because the ref will already be frustrated with Maidana for punching late, and a point will already be taken from him. Lol. I'm laughing, but I'm serious. If Kenny Bayless caught that much hell trying to ref Maidana's last bout, then a piece of shit ref will be for a loooong night. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Again, I see the tide of this fight changing, along with point deductions, and sadly, I believe it goes the distance. |

This is an awesome fight, all of the sudden big things are happening this year. This could set up a potential rematch for the winner against victor ortiz. Thoughts, predictions, hate..? |

According to a report from Boxing Scene, this scrap is close to being set for April 20th! I guess March and April will be the month that boxing gets back on track!

I totally tried to find this thread before I posted. Lol I knew it was in here somewhere (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) We literally were reading Bscene around the same time. That goes to show you how much work I'm actually getting done around here...none at all. Lol |
