I sadly have to agree with that. I do see alot of people including Arum saying that boxing is a mexican sport now and to an extent it's somewhat true but not to toot the horn of my own race, but the blacks are the best fighters in the sport

true. i wish black fighters got support like mexican and puerto rico fighters.

So do I, I do agree that the hispanic demographic is big in boxing but when I listen to people like Arum talk it just makes it seem like that's the only demographic to cater to. It's more so a promoter issue then a fan issue

Arum does strike me as racist, but I never met the man so I can't say that in truth, just an observation

Arum has complained in the past that itís a tough job promoting Cuban fighters in the U.S. ďCuban Olympic champions canít sell out the front row of a dancehall in Miami,Ē he once said. Black Cuban fighters, he said, get virtually no support from white Cuban-Amereicans or African-Americans. Although Arum, 81, has never showed even a trace of senility, advancing age has made him more frank in his observations.

This is what he recently said about Rigo, if your such a masterful promoter like he always says he can find a way to market any product, the man is full of shit

He has no filter, and 81yr old man who can't even articulate himself well. And the guy went to Harvard, his favorite word is delusional, I've heard him use it many of times but he needs to take a step back and re-evaluate himself and the comments he males. Rigo has plenty of options if you ask me, they need to promote him. He just beat a highly skilled and popular fighter in Donaire, and now your telling us that there's nothing you can do to get him fights? Notice he always says something along these lines when his cash cows get defeated

yup. tim and guillermo are pretty much in the same boat. i will say this....bob, at the very least, deserves credit for giving both bradley and rigondeaux their shots to begin with. i guess his matchmakers don't always get it right. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
