I agree, my only question, when did ppv's start up for boxing?

in the 80's. before that it was closed circuit television where u could watch fights on the big screen. i get why they do it....but they have forced ppv fighters on to the public and most of the guys on ppv aren't ppv worthy imo.

Your right about that. The last straw for me (and I repeat) was definately the Dawson-Hopkins 1. Now it's either Stream, Sports Lounge, or a Fight Night parties with the folks.

isn't that funny. the last ppv you ordered...and the last ppv i ordered have something in common. bernard hopkins. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) my last ppv was bhop/joppy. i swore them off after that. it's been fight parties ever since...and let me tell you, that has been difficult because i really enjoy watching boxing by myself.

I have not PPV'ed boxing for about six years. Too expensive. I watch the replay if the fight is good, checking here for our Round-By-Round Coverage! Thanks for everyone's help with the Round By Round Threads! We have been using this system for the last ten years, and it has worked great! Almost all PPV is $60 for big fights! ($70 on some superfights if you want to watch them in HD-Direct TV is the culprit here. Cable used to do $10 extra, for HD, but they don't anymore, at least TWC doesn't.

lol same here. I was telling myself leading up to it, why should I trust a B Hop fight in the first place, when I should know by now that this man don't fight much for entertainment as much as he does to win the fight his own way. Him setting that record just got to my head and had me guilty of believing the hype.

his first fight with robert allen turned me off to him. then his fights with echols and holmes only made me less of a fan. his win over trinidad won me over. then the joppy fight took me back to not liking him and it was a sea saw from there on out. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) sometimes he can be brilliant...most times he's just plain hard to watch. i will watch the next one though.
