I've never been impressed with Berto at all, but I'm not getting on a hate wagon against him just yet.
In this fight I do think the way Urango was coming in with his head had Berto a little shook, and he resorted to all that holding as a result. Hopefully it was a learning experience for him. I need to see him do that again before I pass down the John Ruiz death penalty on him. |

I've never been a fan of Berto.... He'd been hand feed right up until the Collazo fight. I had Collazo winning that fight. But money talks in boxing and poor Collazo doesn't have a lot of that behind him.
I'm not sure C.E.O would want a Hatton Lover on his new hate squad ?! |

I thought Berto and Collazo was extremely close, and it could have gone to either guy and I wouldn't have a problem with it.

Add my name to the list... Done. and Wlad Klitschko is a better P4P boxer than Hatton, right? I watched the replay yesterday....can I be added twice??? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) lol...I know what you mean....he was DISGUSTING in there... I personally started Hating Berto when he no showed a couple of FH Chats back in the day....then I started paying attention to him and how he fights....and found out he was a lacking, overrated fighter..... I don't know if y'all remember....but on The old Hate Dump...him and Emanuel Steward were the first two guys I nominated....he's had this comin'.... Well...I'll go ahead and add you...but I have a problem with how you can see it with Berto and didn't see it with Hatton.....that's wishy washy....they're essentially cut from the same cloth....even fought the same two fighters in a row.... All I can hope is now that Hatton's been buried for good....maybe you'll stop backing fighters just because they hail from a certain country or part of the world.... I thought Berto and Collazo was extremely close, and it could have gone to either guy and I wouldn't have a problem with it. I thought Collazo won close and clear. |

Just thought I'd let it be known that I won't be joining the bus..I was a big fan but lately I have been disappointed in him..The Callazo fight was amazing whether you like Berto or Collazo..I loved that fight..Very entertaining..

LOL at this thread.
I'm with Johnny in this one....I've always enjoyed Berto fight but I recognized his defensive flaws and I never thought he was the next great fighter or anything. I haven't seen the Urango fight yet but even if it was a Ricky Hatton performance I'll let it slide because of how entertaining he's been in the past. |

Exactly..This next year or 2 will decide his future..Will he fix defense problems??Will he improve some of his technique??Will he learn to use his attributes to his advantage more??If Berto is able to do all this,he will be able to be a great fighter..He is entertaining but had a real bad fight plan on Saturday..When he boxes and throws combos he looks good but when he leaps inside after throwing a punch and ties someone up,it's the wrong thing to do..He could get caught coming in like that and that would be all it'd take to KO someone.. |

The hate for Berto is a little overboard in my opinion. Sure he's a B level fighter but must we hate him for that. We forget that the man was in one Hell of a fight last time out and he showed tremendous heart. I won't hate on him yet.
