From what I remember, the court date was somewhere around 2-3 weeks away...not every fighter deals with those legal issues that well. Shit, he did catch some time for that charge (2 years, I believe), so maybe in his mind, he already knew he was going to jail. Obviously he knew he was guilty (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dntknw.gif)

to be fair Cshel, the last three fighters have been damaged fighters, I mean margarito was obviously ruined by pac, foremans knee dicked up and thats why the fight was really stopped, although cotto was dominating and i havent seen the mayorga fight yet. but from what i remember mayorga is OLDDDD, they feel like tkos that shouldnt really of been. am in no way backing up allmenjo(whatever) because she really cant argue logically, but what ive presented is a logical arguement. in the whole cotto vs floyd, i think floyd wins simply because now cotto is too slow and old, before when he was more aggressive i would of given him more of a shot, but now he is shot. yes he just won, but a win doesnt make someone 10 years younger.

Regardless of what the opponents were like he won all 3 fights by KO/TKO...I just dont see an old and slow Cotto...he still has good foot and handspeed to go with his power and if he continues to utilize clinching in his fights he can still be very successful. True a KO doesnt make anyone 10yrs younger but he is still younger than Mayweather. Also Mayweather has used a more stand-your-ground style his last 2 fights which would give Cotto more opportunities.

I really feel that besides Sergio Martinez...Cotto gives Floyd the toughest fight available.

How many PPV numbers could Sergio and Canelo can do if they fought? Over million or million flat. I am telling you now I am not or would not pay 50 bucks on that fight. If they can each get 5 million a piece plus 5% of the gate and PPV then I think it can work. I am sure May would be willing to listen. This is my wishful thinking.

1. Of course you wouldn't pay for it, you're NOT Mexican......are you? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nea.gif)

2. $10M b/t those two AND 5% of the gate, no telling what Floyd is getting off the top....what on Earth would GBP get? Yeah, Floyd would listen, laugh and then say, "Nah, seriously Richard, whatcha got for me?"

NO WAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!

Cotto isn't "younger" than Mayweather.

In terms of ring age and wear and tear, Cotto is pushing 40 and Mayweather is about in his mid 20's.

Cotto took more damage against Pacquiao & Margarito than Floyd has taken in his entire career... and that's not counting a bunch of other Cotto fights where he sustained heavy damage as well. You can only go to the well so many times.

I am not Mexican? What does that have to do with anything? And if I was a Latina I still wouldn't pay to see it. Floyd would get his and the investors would be there, I promise you. You have people dying to be apart of anything that is big in sports... Hell the investors can give them 10 million off the top and Floyd would get his regardless. It can happen

I believe I replied to this earlier, but I dont foresee a million PPVs coming out of this. I mean, Canelo is becoming a big name (and still growing) and Sergio is a big name to "us", but thats about it. Depending upon the location of the bout, seats WILL BE sold. I dont know about that $5M a piece, that could possibly be the entire purse if you really wanna know. Out of that 5M, Im sure Canelo would get the bigger split.

You have to think about how much these two would make on B.A.D. if they fought. Im not sure HBO's budget would be that huge for the fight, so crossing over into the PPV realm with them being first time headliners probably would increase the budget a bit, who knows. Just because guys are headlining a PPV, doesn't necessarily equal a multi-million dollar payday. Look at the Morales/Maidana PPV...Morales was guaranteed 500k and Maidana got 250k (but he doesn't mind taking chump money).

B.A.D. fighters sometimes crack over a million per fight, especially if Haymon is your manager (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) The majority of these fighters are under contract, so they are only going to make so much, but again, its based on promotion. Most of these promoters get tv deals for these fighters anyway, so there goes the budget. I remember Floyd made about $3M against Corley, while Corley only took home about $150k on an HBO boxing main event.

Then they should try to go on a national channel like CBS or Fox. With football season ending ( (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cray.gif) ) the network will not have to worry about competition. This could bring boxing back to the mainstream. Why not have Sergio and Canelo introduced the world to boxing. Plus with America being mostly Hispanic now it would be perfect. Have Univision be a co sponsor how could you lose? You can't like I said, it could happen. The Mayweather Pacquiao should be on Network TV that way everyone has ebough money to get paid. No commercial interruptions. Now they would need a sensor on Roger but other than that it could be big!

Yup, another classic case of winning the battle but losing the war. Cotto took a lot of heavy shots and damage in close fights with Clottey & Mosley too, but that fact seems to be forgotten because he got the W in those fights. He also took a lot of heavy shots from Mayorga. While Cotto landed like 100 more jabs on Mayorga that night, Mayorga outlanded Cotto in power shots clipping him with something like 190 from what I recall. Again, a fact that's forgotten because Cotto got the W.

Even digging back to Cotto's days at 140 guys like Corley and Torres had no trouble lighting him up.

From what I've read, Main Events Promotions is working/has worked out a mainstream television deal...guess it all came down to the budget for the bouts. I hope you're sure about America being mostly Hispanic (you should provide sources with your posts (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) ) Mayweather/Pacquiao on network television? Please tell me you're kidding (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Please!

Im sure that everybody involved (all the way down to the camera men) have added up and revised how much their checks were gonna be for working this event for the last 2 years (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) PPV is DEFINITELY gonna get that Pacquiao/Mayweather money...no way in hell they lose that kind of money to mainstream television.
