I thought it was pretty classless of Abraham to suggest Dirrell was faking just because he was getting his ears boxed off for 10 rounds. Really? I think it was said in the heat of the moment. People thought Griffin faked it against Jones and even the normally reserved HBO special judge Harold Ledderman said "Jim I think he faked it!" LOL I would go so far as to say it was classless. He thought he faked it. That's what I love about boxing unlike other sports. If a guy has something to say about you. He will and most like he will say to your face. Its hard to say. I don't think it was a flush shot from my point of view but as I stated in my post. I was not hit by the punch. I will say Dirrell seemed to overreact. It was very melodramatic. The crying and carrying on gave the impression that he was in fact acting. As far as know if he had a brain bleed or not. I am not a doctor and who knows if they can know that so soon. The fight was a bit of let down because it was not allowed to be played out. I have a feeling they will meet again. Next in Germany. Its just a hunch. |

What about all the mistakes in officiating this fight. The ring doctor fixes Abraham's cut!!! What the hell. Its supposed to be a wipe, yay or nay. Thats it. The Doctor stopped th ebleeding. The knockdown of Dirrell was legit. Their feet did cross, but it was initiated with a punch. Then there was the knockdown via counter by Dirrell that sent Abraham reeling into the ropes that wasnt counted as a knockdown. This fight was horribly officiated. If I'm not mistaken, that ref was the same ref who got suspended for telling a fighter he's up on the scorecards. He's horrible. Then there is the issue of the ending. I'm kind of on the fence because I thought Dirrell had been hit with harder shots than that during the fight and no such reaction. his reaction was delayed after the punch. It appeared to me that he took a second to think about how to react. But then after he went down, it appeared like his body was convulsing. The post fight interview was jibberish. I'm not sure what to believe. I hate the way this one ended. It appeared that Abraham was getting beat down, but he was starting to catch Dirrell in those last rounds. it was a typical Abraham performance. He was definately frustrated, but we've seen these types of performance by Abraham. Keep in mind that Taylor got KO'd in the 12th round. I could see that same thing happening to Dirrell. Abraham was starting to connect. I though Dirrell was putting on the performance of his life, but he was starting to get careless in those last few rounds. The big question is, did Dirrell take a dive because he was ahead on points and Abraham was starting to catch him? Good points brother. I totally agree with everything that you have stated. The ref was really bad and so was the doctor who treated the cut. It was a mess up affair but all things can be straighten out as the Super Six continues on. Had a back and forth conversation people who are saying that Abraham was exposed. LOL If the Super Six had lost some of its heat its gotten it all back and more. Abraham is kind of a 1 dimensional slugger who lets guys beat away on his arms until they slow down some, so AA can time them with a straight right bomb and stop them. |

This was one of the first times I've seen Abraham fight with such urgency and recklessness, and also the first time I've seen him so discouraged between rounds. If you wanna talk about shady shit happening in the fight, i.e. ref fixing the cut, questionable low blows, uncounted KDs, then yeah, typical Abraham fight. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) |

Of course Abraham deserved to be disqualified. Just say Dirrell was faking, which I do not think he was, what if he would have stood up and took some time to recuperate and then Abraham would have ended up KO'ing later that round? It totally would have been an unfair advantage for AA after hurting him bad with a cheap shot.
Fuck AA also for saying he was a faker, maybe he should admit he is the ONE who caused this mess, not Dirrell. Very nice performance by Dirrell, looked way better than last time around. |

Its just a hunch. Bottom is line is Abraham shouldn't have punched Dirrell when he was down. Even after Abraham CLEARLY saw he had hit Dirrell illegally, he automatically accuses Dirrell of faking rather than just admitting he was wrong and wishing a strong recovery. It was clearly a reaction to him being frustrated from being outboxed for 10 rounds and was just plain immature to blame the other fighter for his lacking performance. What if Dirrell wasn't faking? What if he is permanently brain damaged? You can't tell either way that soon after it happens and it's better for him to not assume anything and be proven wrong than to accuse Dirrell of faking and be proven wrong. Pretty childish for someone who calls himself a "King". This post has been edited by Snoop: Mar 28 2010, 02:08 AM |

But I don't wish for it to happen to Andre Dirrell who seems like a really nice guy and a professional. Like I stated before its all depends on your perception. Doesn't matter if he is call the king or not. Maybe he thinks '' Hell I fought with a fucking broken jaw for 8 rounds and this guy is acting like he was shot!" I have no idea what's in either gentleman's mind but if you think what he said was childish. I can't begin to imagine what you think of some of the other stuff that happens in boxing. Tyson saying it was going to hear Lewis's children. Hopkins stomping on a another man's country's flag. Man this is classless - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jWoWg7EtdA This is classless and very personal - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3N_vvuppyTs...feature=related And this is classless and we all know the rest http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BI3D7h5yxOs...feature=related But no matter what - in the end - boxing is the greatest sport ever! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKfSlU2uGRA Peace all! |

I dont think it was intentional. AA had to much to lose if he was DQ'd. I think it was one of those, in the heat of battle things. U gota give it up for dre.He did what he was expected of him.& that was to hit & not get hit.the king didn't have a plan B.The bottom line is ,he waited to late to try to take control. But im gonna say one motha fucn thing, direll was looking pretty fucked up after the king put him on his ass in the tenth I believe it was.I believe it was out of being frustrated.Heat of the battle, what can I say.would dirrel have won if abraham didn't throw the that last blow?I SERIOUSLY DOUBT IT!He was taking some strong shots from abraham towards the end & he didn't seem to be all there.Personally I think the king would have finished him.Who knows, there probably would have been a fuckn riot or some crazy shit if the king would have finished him! |

Great boxing improvement by Direll! He did TONS better than against Froch. This was very good boxing and the way to do it. He looked great!
Cole missed that KD scored by Abraham. The shot was dirty and intentional. I don't think Direll was play acting. It was a very hard shot you can see Direll's head go back hard when he was on the floor. Good call by Cole on the DQ. Abraham's slow starts may kill his chances in this tournament. He is now known as a dirty fighter. But let it be known about the 8th round or so I thought King Arther might get dirty in there out of frustration and that is what happened. He starts too slow. Had this been in Germany, who thinks that the ref would have overlooked the late shot and counted out Direll? Or taken a five minute time out to decide what to do? LOL! I feel bad for Direll. He clearly did not know where he was. The doctor in the post-fight interview showed the proper medical concern for him. I only gave Abraham one round before the DQ. Jack |
