I like Dos Santos but that was an early stoppage. Cain was never out of it, and he was working to defend himself.
Big John is a good ref, and I think the early stoppage is a result of being on network TV for the first time. No way they wanted to risk letting Cain go on and wind up getting seriously hurt in front of a national audience. Oh well. MMA is still where it's at. No other combat sport in the world offers as many premiere match-ups. Nowhere else do you see the top two fighters in their division take each other on on such a regular basis. And certainly not on network TV, for FREE. We could be watching the alternative, big name fighters fighting once every two or three years, others fighting dudes at catch-weights for trinket belts that no longer have meaning. For 60 fucking dollars. OH YEAH!!!! |
