for a boxing promotional company who hasn't exactly promoted a single boxing match....they sure know how to get attention. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
it's disappointing to hear that he hired the old toprank match maker. i was wondering who they would align themselves with in that regard because it will be very instrumental in their success. golden boy has shot itself in the foot while oscars childhood buddy has been trying to learn the ins and outs of matchmaking. dkp and toprank have proven track records with their matchmaking...and that is an area often over looked by promotional companies new to the sport. |

You see how Gamboa and others contracts were turned over to Mayweather Promotions? Im betting that was the plan all along. This whole thing smells like a setup.

The reason why I think there is validity to this is because of the eery similarities in the tactics of 50 lately. For those of you who want proof there's a riff, I told you he was on the Rickey Smiley morning show talking about Floyd and not in a friendly way. Youtube it or google it. He's been doing interviews all this week with other radio show hosts and making similar comments
The eery connection I'm speaking of is 50's headphone line, he did an interview about 2 to 3 weeks back making cryptic remarks about the company, which is called SMS audio, Sleek by 50 for you old heads lol. Come to find out last week, he's being sued by the makers of SMS, he invested in the company and stole the idea and tried to sell it to a rival company, using the same technology and plans that SMS presented to him Now he says he's "out of the headphone business". It's apparent that he's hearing ideas and stealing them for himself and his own personal gain. Karma is a bitch and if 50 somehow forms a company with Manny who seems to be dumb as rocks when it comes to business, I don't see success behind it. Boxing fans don't like sh*t like this, he and who he aligns himself with will face some form of backlash |

i see the problem. 50 hired a former top rank matchmaker and floyd didn't like that. also he probably didn't want to ruined his relationship with haymon and gbp. Hotsauce nailed it here...IMHO. These are probably the most succinct reasons why Floyd & 50 would want to grow apart, just like that. In addition to the latest insight to the whole saga as provided by mrchitown in his latest post above this, I think 50 came into the whole thing wanting to make quick money/turn over off the May-Pac potential mega fight, and then get out. Unfortunately, he (50) found out it wouldn't be that straightforward. Especially if his claim is true that he raised/put up that $40mil Floyd once offered to Pac. P34c3 |

So many people were talking crazy like 50 was gonna save boxing and be a different kind of promoter and work all sorts of wonders, but like you mentioned they didnt even promote an event and he already dumped his fighters. |
