Paco tweeted,

He said something like, "How come my friends didn't eliminate all the useless belts?" But how would he know? He wasn't there!!

Who knows what is going to happen in the long run with the different promoters, networks, rules, and regulations? But at least the main heads are TRYING to get some uniformity going! Paco also said, he was at past meetings (there were some years ago, to his defense) that didn't get anywhere.

The Association of Boxing Commissions has their annual meeting in July. They regulate the rules for boxing and MMA in the USA, Canada, and Indian Tribal Reservations. I Tweeted to Mauricio Sulaiman in the interim of all of this that the organizations must be sure to respect and acknowledge the rules of the ABC in such countries where those rules take place. The organizations have done a good job respecting the ABC rules, except Texas, which sometimes likes to be above its own bi-laws. Texas doesn't really have a commission. The Texas Boxing Commission really is Lawrence and Dickie Cole. The ABC had its anual meeting in Texas last year, so hopefully differences were worked out. In my view. there's not a fair balance of power in that state because the Cole Family has so much money to do what they want in that state. Dick Cole was a WBC rep for years, and son Lawrence gets almost all the big ref assignments in Texas, yet is just an average ref.

Jack

This meeting and the positive feedback that it's getting from the boxing community should put the pressure on him to attend the next meeting. It would be a big hit to the already shaky reputation of the WBO if they failed to attend the next meeting.

I also found his remark about what they discussed at the meeting to be ridiculous since he wasn't even there, and, like you said, didn't even send a WBO rep on behalf of the sanctioning body.

Texas is the worst. And because they don't have a state commission they are able to run wild without any consequences at the local level. That's why many fighters don't want to go there. If your not from Texas or the crowd favorite then your likely to lose. Diaz-Malinaggi 1, Canelo-Trout, and more had some suspect scoring

Well, you can't go to beautiful Cancun, and NOT have alcohol! LOL!

Jack

I'd hope they would play it cool and have a few drinks...they don't seem like stiffs to me...unless it comes to unifying titles. Lol

They probably passed around some high class escorts and had a good ol time lol

You know they did! The word "escort" makes the idea of "sex for pay", sound progressive.
