This fight is at heavyweight, because it was quite clear from the get go that Toney a.) wanted to fight at heavy, and b.) was never going to be able to make 205lbs anyway. |

James Toney's finest hour will, for me, always be the Jirov fight. And even though Holyfield was definitely past it when they fought, I think that was probably Toney's highest profile win. Iran Barkley and Michael Nunn are obviously huge name wins as well. But I almost wonder if Couture is his highest profile fight. I suppose it's possible that this could be his biggest grossing fight.
I don't watch MMA and have no idea how big this thing actually is going to be (I don't think I had even heard of Couture before it was announced), but it sure seems like this is getting a lot of press as a big time event. Wouldn't it be funny if this ended up being the fight Toney was most famous for? |
