I've suggested before, and will again now, that we should set up a trading network on here. Where we trade fights through the mail on DVDS.

That eliminates the problems of downloading and having files deleted.

You would have to basically be trusting that the other person is going to send your fights, but if we could set up a private subforum in here for that, we could keep a running list of anyone who abuses the trust, by either A. ripping someone off and not sending the fights after RECEIVING the fights, or B. trying to get someone to PAY for fights.

This should be done for the love of the sport and spreading as much good fights as possible. Not to make a buck or to "cover shipping and handling" or some shit.

And you could always chip in a buck or two and get the confirmation delivery thing where the other person has to sign for the package so you know for a fact they received it and they can't say "oh I never got it, it musta gotten lost, I'm not sending my stuff out til I get it" ya know?

Yeah I have it, but on VHS at the moment. I'm going through the process of putting all my VHS onto DVD, maybe I will have a chance to upload it, but no promises.

i have a lot of fights on vhs going back to the days of jack johnson... i talked to i believe bg a while back about doing some trading... i just need to get a vhs to dvd converter and id be interested in making out right trades... id have to look into the conversion to pc... maybe i could put these fights on a hard drive i dont know... ive had some of these tapes since the mid 80{s and im worried bout them going bad on me...

A lot of people would, but it requires work from everyone. Unfortunately, we have people that just want to download the fights, lol.

JLuv, one way you can copy your VHS tapes is if you decide to buy a DVD or Blu Ray recorder. You connect your recorder and VHS together. Kind of like you did in the old days (not sure if you did) when connecting 2 VHS players together and recording from one another. You can play movies through your VHS and record the playing image to your DVD recorder. From then on, you can burn them to disc, and then from the DVD disc, you can copy files onto a hard drive for backup. Obviously the picture won't be great when recording from VHS, but it's something.
