Desperate times call for desperate measures and if you're a 41-year-old future Hall-of-Fame boxer hoping to land a meaningful fight in the wasteland known as the heavyweight division, times are indeed desperate. According to reports, James "Lights Out" Toney has decided to temporarily hang up his boxing gloves in order to move forward with a career in mixed martial arts. 'Cause I'm thinking, unless he gets matched up right, Toney is going to get humbled by RNC his first fight out. And I do NOT want to see that happen. I'm a huge fight fan, first and foremost, and Toney is onle of my all-time faves. It won't be a good look for him. |

Yeah...but that point is going to get overshadowed by him getting his ass handed to him. I did not want to see Lights Out go out like this. Who cares? I'm happy for him that he's getting the opportunity to challenge himself at this point in his career. At 41, most athletes are just wasting time in between doctor appointments...James on the other hand, is attempting to compete at a different sport. Good for him, I hope he does well. |
