Here is a topic I don't see discussed often.

How do you recover from injuries you suffer during training ??

Do you have a system of recovery ??

Do you back off from training hard and go light for awhile until you recover ??

Do you stop altogether until you're healed ??

I have a lower back injury as well from a lifetime of athletics. During my rehab, they had me watch a back school video to help me know what to do when I feel pain. I thought it would say to lay off of it, but it actually said the opposite...

You have to break the cycle by staying active while in pain...so JonnysTrainer is CORRECT!
