Great scoop, Hype!
I love to hear about arrogant SOB's getting brought back to reality.
I may actually love Al Haymon now.
It's funny, when Floyd "retired," nobody outside of boxing gave 2 cents about him or his whereabouts.
Now that he's back, he's in AT&T commercials and on ESPN again.

Floyd should win both fights (JMM and Pac), but I'd love to see him lose.
That would be awesome. I've been bitter every since he got that gift over Castillo in their first fight. Up to that point he was criticizing the hell out of Bob Arum. Immediately after he got that gift, he started talking about Bob being the greatest promoter in the world.

LMFAOOOOOOO!

Can you give me a breakdown on how to beat Paul Williams? Paul is far from unbeatable but I just want to know what people think. Let's try to say a little more than "watch the Quintana fight".

floyd is more accurate on his shots than Paul will ever be.....floyd puts shit on the "money" literally like he has a target aim lock thingy on his opponents lol.....Paul would give him problems with them long ass arms of his..........but floyd has already beat an opponent with long arms..that was tall and lanky with an okay chin and that was diego corrales, nobody thought it really could be done but .....we all know this and its been said time and time again....speed kills.

the question here is..do you think Paul is going to be able to chase mayweather around for 12 rounds.....he'll have to throw lots of punches to the body....and that will leave him open.......so he'll have to sell out to get to floyd.....paul doesn't have the greatest defense in the world...his chin will be out there like a stripper's titty

A agree about the Quintana fight being a good indicator of how to beat him. Let's say Williams was unprepared or not himself that night. He still got caught with tons of flush punches and could not find any answer to Quintana's movements. As for the rematch, it is hard to criticize a fighter for winning by KO in the 1st round so all I'm going to say is that if Williams had broken Quintana down for 8 rounds and then ko'd him I'd be convinced he can handle a good boxer. But he didn't.

I for one am perplexed by people using the Wright fight to show that Williams can now handle boxers because Wright is nothing like Quintana. For the past 8 years he has been fighting flat footed, necessary to keep his balance due to his turtle shell defense. He has not been a stick and move fighter since the late 90's.

From the 1st Quintana fight, what do you see that makes you think Mayweather wouldn't be able to reproduce it? He's faster than Quintana, has better defense than Quintana, better stamina, better punching power and let's face it, smarter than Quintana. He would have no problem recreating the gameplan.

I give Williams credit, his punches have more snap, he varies his punches in combinations which confuses his opponents and he goes to the body more. Hell, he even counters more. Still, Mayweather has that blueprint on how to beat Williams and maybe another in reserve.

yep

Corrales has a below average chin, but has mad heart and Corrales and Williams are nothing alike. Corrales was stupid in the Mayweather fight, he didn't throw, he tried to walk on the inside without throwing punches, he expected to just get inside Mayweather by just walking in without throwing which was stupid. Unlike Corrales, Williams is also a southpaw with an incredible chin that throws 100 punches a round who is quicker as well. Other than them being tall with long arms, they are nothing alike.

Actually Corrales didn't have long arms like Williams..Corrales was a bit on the short side when it came to his arm length for his height..Floyd has a longer reach than him and is about 3-4 inches shorter..Floyd has long arms for his height and I think people tend to forget that..Reach can be misleading due to things like finger length and the width of your shoulders..Arm length is the most accurate and I believe Mayweather's was longer than Corrales..I might watch the fight tonight and get some arm length statistics hopefully..

Williams and Corrales are nothing alike like Fitz said..

Thanks, you are right. Well that means that are even less alike other than being tall and lanky. Not sure what the comparison between Corrales and Williams was about though. Still nothing alike.

People were split more or less about who would win that fight, it's not like no one wasn't giving Mayweather a chance.

Thank you JB! I've been saying this here in virtually every thread for years now where someone mentions Corrales having long arms. He didn't! His arms were actually short for his height, which is why he was so much better fighting on the inside. He looked a freaking T-Rex!

Paul Williams is absolutely nothing like Diego Corrales.

You know who has some long arms for his height? Shane Mosley. Pretty sure his arms are significantly longer than Floyd's which is a main reason why I think he'd have a chance to pull out that fight (should they fight, and judging by Floyd's interview on the front page it looks like they won't).

No doubt Big Slim..Just because a guy is tall, doesn't mean he has long arms..I sparred with a guy who was 6'8 once and his arms were only an inch longer than mine(my arm length was 27'' at that time so he was 28'')..My arm length now is 28'' at 6'2..V. Klitchko has 29.5'' in arm length so I don't know..29-30 is very long!!

I'll see if I can find out about Shane Mosley's arm length..He does have long arms but I wonder how they measure up against Floyd..It's hard to find arm lengths unless you go back to a fight and find out..

Arm length has always been a statistic that really interests me,not reach though since that can be misleading..I'll let ya guys know if I can find out Shanes and Mayweathers..
