People think it is laughable that one might try to use the Baldomir win as rationale for not fighting the top guys in the division, regardless of the fact that Floyd fought him after fighting the guy he previously beat.)

You are pretty much speaking to my point in all of this. You cannot just say this guy is garbage and that guy is not deserving, especially when they have the names of Mosley, Cotto, Margarito, Clottey and Williams. People can call any of them garbage, but they aren't - and you don't get credit for the fights by fighting someone else.

Moreover, in boxing, you do not get credit for guys you may fight...you kind of have to fight them.

Floyd's ability has never come into question, it is his willingness that has throughout the run at welter.

Until these fights actually start happening Mayweather's welterweight resume is suspect and he remains open to this type of criticism.
