Why did this fight never happen?

My comment was more based off of Lloyd's comment where he basically was saying Kostya was just setting Judah up the entire time and that clearly wasn't the case.

Here's what's funny to me and NO I'm no longer Judah fan but its amazing how people will minimize Zab but that was Kostya's biggest win of his career.

Well pre-Tszyu, Judah was on his way to being that next big thing and none of his true colors had come out yet. He was steam rolling guys and was looking like a P.Wittaker with power. IMO it was a GREAT win for Tzsyu, and he forever changed Judah and made him what he is today. After the Tzsyu fight Judah was just never the same.

Fuck yea, I made it to 100 posts.

I remember that too. Most of the fire of that comparison came from Max Kellerman back when he used too co-host the studio segments of FNF. After he lost to Tzsyu people were saying he would win the rematch based on how the 1st one had gone. Of course those who based a future victory for Judah completely overlooked the 2nd round which he spent moving around the ring, landing nothing significant. After that he was ko'd.

I also remember how some people were arguing that if he would have been allowed to continue after the the KD he would have won the fight. I think looking back now, we know that would have been unlikely. You saw how he reacted after ge got stunned against Baldomir, he went into survival mode. If anything I think Tzsyu would have eventually caught him again like he did with Mitchell in the rematch. That was the thing with Tzsyu, you had a better chance of making it to the distance by fighting in close than you did if you gave him the range to fire that big right hand.

I also want to say something regarding "quitting". We pay these guys to see them fight. We expect them to fight the best out there and not offer BS excuses about why they avoid certain fighters while at the same time they go on to fight lesser competition. That being said, no amount of money that we could ever pay could be enough to make them give up their lives. Many writers have explored how boxing fans are unlike anyother sports fan. Most fans expect their fighters to be willing to give up their lives in order to win. Those fans who call fighters who quit names like "loser" or worse, are without a doubt the lowest of the low. They are the type of fans who hate it when a guy boxes, boo when no one is bleeding and most importantly; have never actually been in the ring themselves. I think these type of people should be ignored until they realize that fighters feel pain too and have limits. Boxers are tougher than most of us will ever dream of being which makes it more amazing how there are guys who are beyond tough. Guys like Gatti and Corrales. Guys who would never dream of quitting. However, we should not kid ourselves. Most of those guys were not right in the head.

I also wanted to comment, regarding these low class of fans, how they call fighters who quit, names like "loser" but then when a fighter dies in the ring they suddenly stop talking because the event has shaken them up to see reality. One of the sad parts is though, that after some months pass after the fighter's death, these fans start talking shit all over again.
