There was a question on another forum, "Why do so Many Bad Decisions happen in Canada?" And I responded with the follwing in regards to the Guzman-Funeka fight:

The problem is a b.s Quebec law that Canada has in effect for boxing, stating that at least two of four officials for the fights MUST be from Canada. I don't know how much the world covering federations of boxing in terms of power to challenge this law.

However, we are seeing an alarming pattern of regularity of protecting the guy's "O." This has become almost the rule rather than the exception. Most of the time, the fighter with the better promoter gets close rounds, the fighter in there with top network billing is often put up with opposition where the opposing fighter's only chance of winning is by stoppage or KO.

There's never recourse for appalling judging. And what promoter is going to go after judging no matter how bad it may be that benefits his own fighter?

It goes beyond Canada. HBO is in bed with Golden Boy Promotions because they have a love relationship with Oscar Delahoya and the other fighters whom they have under long term contract: Mayweather, Mosley, Hopkins, Pacquiao. And it so happened that Oscar's fighter Guzman is an undefeated guy where the judges sought to protect Guzman's record. I don't know any other explanation.

I don't know if it is favoritism, corruption, incompetence, or any combination of the three. But I think some of these judges who are rendering verdicts so outside the realm of what happens in the ring better start to realize that in your attempt to protect the star fighter's "O" you are driving away fans and sponsors by giving the star boxer a bad decision just to protect him.

Last night was a clear case of corruption - as was the first Adrade-Bute fight. There's simply no way in the world anyone can know enough about boxing to get a job as a judge and come away with that kind of nonsense. And the fact that 2 knowledgeable boxing people (the judges) came up with the same bs score is way too improbable for there to be any other logical explanation. They were bought.
