I certainly hope so. Well boxing deserves it. Excluding the megafights that rarely materialise & usually fall through boxing has pretty much lost me as a fan. At least in the UFC you get stacked PPV cards & the fights are well matched. Never thought I would say that either. Well...you're a hater AND self loathing. |

Do you really care what the idiots think? REALLY?!? LOL I personally don't, but I also know my sole opinion doesn't determine how people are going to interpret this fight or how it will affect boxing. Plus, it's just annoying as fuck to hear people talk out of their ass. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) QUOTE History won't remember them, but it will definitely remember that James Toney tried his luck in the Octagon. Boxing Greats HAVE done worse...Muhammed Ali fought a professional wrestler. Joe Louis was a greeter at a fucking CASINO! This ain't a bad way to go out...IF this is James' way of going out. Fair enough, now that you put it into a historical context QUOTE Here's a better version of the video The CEO posted...lol...I've been waiting to post this... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) LMAO. Where the fuck is that music from? But see if fans of either sport are using this as a point of reference to compare Boxing and MMA and it's Ray Mercer, just imagine if it's James Toney. But then again, Toney could win then all us boxing fans could shove it in the faces of those MMA fans. Hell yes. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) |

That's Sanford and Son, man...lol...how are you a part of all of these racial discussions but you don't know the BEST black sitcom in TV History?! Fuckin' A right dude. I'm thinking it's gonna be some obscure Classical emotion building piece, but it's friggin' Sanford and Son (remake of the British Steptoe and Son). Damn that gets #facepalm for sure. |

I'm pretty sure whoever James faces he'll talk enough shit during the fight build up to get the guy to become confident in his stand up and try to box with Toney, get caught (Tim Sylvia style) and Toney will continue to talk shit.

The only fighter man enough to stand with Toney would be Wanderlei Silva, and they'll be in different weight classes. Anderson Silva might do it, but it'd be out of stupidity and he'd take it to the ground once he got caught. The rest will take him down regardless. There won't be anything more embarrassing for Toney than to get the life choked out of him, and put to sleep quivering in the middle of the octagon. It's gonna be a sad fucking day for me when it happens. I'm an MMA fan, and I'm a boxing fan too, and I LOVE James Toney. Gonna be heartbreaking to see him get humbled. |

I guess it really depends on how generous Dana is feeling
The UFC doesnt normally give fighters with big names an easy first fight. They usually get thrown to the wolves. It would be foolish for Dana to give James a gift opponent. There are a plenty of guys that will happily bang with Toney in a stand up contest. James will still lose, simply because of the knees and kicks. He doesnt have the power of mercer to end it quickly, so even if he does well in the stand up, in will only be a matter of time till he gets taken down I'll reserve judgement till i see who he is fighting |

I'll agree that this is sad. I can't think of anyone in boxing right now that breathes, bleeds and pisses the sport the way James Toney does. To me he is a boxer 100%. I mean who the fuck in this modern day version of the sport has 80 fucking pro fights??
I guess he's going to UFC coz he can't get a half decent fight in boxing. I'd like to see him in with Tarver, either Klit, Haye or Hopkins. He probably doesn't win many of those fights but I wouldn't mind seeing them. I can't believe he can't make a fight with any of the above mentioned dudes. I just hope he doesn't get too damaged in the UFC. I sense this not going to end well for James, but then it doesn't end well for 99% of the guys I like in boxing LOL. |
