This will be the thread for all Mayweather-Mosley on-going and post-fight discussions. Important Notes:

Users must keep ANY and ALL RESULTS about the fight inside of this thread. Users will face consequences of possible suspensions or negativity warnings on their accounts for violating this rule.

A SPECIAL NOTE: Some cable/dish systems (not all) will be offering a FREE two-fight undercard approximately 90-minutes from the card's start times indicated above. As this may not be applicable for all systems we can only do the spoiler results for the mainstream PPV. Users can still discuss the two prefights by replying in the thread if their system is showing them.

Asking Mayweather to jump two divisions is a little unfair but whatever... I wouldn't mind seeing him clean up the division if Pacquiao don't want it.

Yeah because it waqs not two full divisions it was at a catchweight & catchweight fights are fine if it is Floyd fighting in one & coming in overweight.

If Floyd kicks Martinez' mug in at a catchweight of say, 150ish lbs. would that make Floyd champ at 147, 154 and 160 at the same tiime (?)

Umm no as Floyd is not champion at any weight class. He holds no current belt & is not the recognised champion at any weight class.

As much as I dislike Floyd's selfishness, you gotta admit his recent moves have been INDIRECTLY improving the sport as a whole. By not paying the WBA sanctioning fees, he's basically give a big "FUCK YOU" to the sanctioning bodies. IMO it was a smart move. He's already claimed at title at WW to write in the books, otherwise titles only serves as bargaining chips, which Mayweather no longer needs.

Co-sign. But it would be nice to see a young up and coming fighter do the same thing. As you say Floyd has already won a strap at 147 so he bypasses the title. Now answer me this. If Floyd got a title fight at say 160 do you think he'd pay the sanctioning fee to win a strap in that division and become a 27 time 18 weight division champion? I betcha he would.

It is only when the fighters stop paying the sanctioning fees FULL STOP that we will get any traction on this subject.

I actually think Mayweather just passed on the WBA strap because he valued the money over the belt, which in his case, makes sense. I doubt there was any "noble" intention behind his actions, they just happened to appear that way.

Mayweather wasn't gonna pay a sanctioning fee for a belt he has no intention on defending. That would be just stupid...unless of course it was for the 160 lb title which would make him a 6 weight Champion.
