Too bad he is done... only because his gorilla ass has not the work ethic to get in shape. He can still fight but at his age he would have to work out and stay in shape and that is something that gorilla face is not committed so therefore he needs to STFU...

Great fighter held back by being a fat ass

I can see you love James Toney as a fighter and that is fine... he is an all time great and Of course he has earned the right to talk shit in a sense. I am saying he needs to STFU yet he has the the freedom to act like an Ape as he wants to ... it is his constitutional right. I have the same right to say what I want... have I earned that right by paying taxes in this bitch for the past 25 years. AMERIca IS A great country...

It's really clear to me neither do you understand nor appreciate James' sense of humour. That's Ok I'm sure there are enough Mayweather videos on the internet where you can catch Floyd clowning around with Ellerbee and doing silly homo-erotic dance routines if that's what floats your boat ;-)

Well he's what 41? 42? Of course he's done. Whaddya expect? HOF here he comes. First ballot easy plus they'll give James an honourary key to his local BK.

Fuck you Ollie with your damn BK jokes! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Toney's my favorite fighter of all time, just in case you did not know, lol. He has always made me laugh with his crazy talk and antics. It's just his personality and he is being real, not like that fake ass Oscar. Sure I can understand people disliking him with the way he acts. But me I always loved his ways.

In recent years it definitely would have been nice to see him way more active with the fighting part, not just the smack talk part. It is also sad that he was never able to control his eating habits and what not. It sure hindered his performances in the ring, but I am sure it will even be a bigger problem in these coming years. It is a shame there is no one that seems to be able to truly help him, cause he obviously can not do it himself.

As a boxing fan, I am so thankful for being able to watch Toney the last 20+ years fight. I have some amazing memories of many of his fights. He is the most complete fighter I ever seen in the ring. Thanks James!!!

Fucken hell he's not dead yet! That's one hell of a eulogy LL (and I agree with pretty much all of it.)

Personally I would love to see James on a celebrity version of Biggest Loser. Bob trying to motivate him and James just laying him out before taking Jillian out back for some sexy time then stealing a car and driving down to the nearest Taco Bell.

Afterwards James on the scale putting ON 10 pounds, he starts yelling at the scales saying they must be broken and screaming "I am NOT fat!!" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

James Toney is definitely your weakness (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Edit: Wait, who was that other big Toney fan from years ago that LL would get a long with? Was it ChicoEscuela or something like that?

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/fuck.gif)

Dude... why you always messing with me about Toney? It's not like I ever bust your chops about being a Vic Darchinnyan nut hugger. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Oh...maybe I do, lol.

Anyway, I do remember Chico a little. But I really do not remember being buddies with him to be honest. Shit, I do not think anyone gets along with me on this board, lol.

It would be more awesome to hang out and watch some classic Toney press conferences. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Sam Peter 1 takes the cake (no pun intended.)

Yet, he is in control of his eating habits, so I would not say that "it is a shame." JT should have made the move out of a physical profession some years ago. I moved away from the more physically demanding work in my early 30's. The amount of time it took for conditioning was the determining factor. I immediately went from a constantly (over) trained 190 to 215- although I conditioned far harder than normal humans. Marriage to a woman who believes in keeping her husband well fed and long work hours have been my excuses for ballooning like Toney, but it really comes down to personal choices.

It is easy to make fun and/or criticize others from behind a computer screen. I'm not interested in walking in another person's shoes or stealing them. While JT is in the public eye by choice it does not mean that we know all the reasons behind his choices.

Thuggishness only gets you so far.

I honestly do not know how I should take your post. But hear is my response to the way I take it.

Toney has never had control of eating habits, back as far as the Tiberi fight he had issues. He also had issues in the Roy Jones fight losing weight the wrong way.

As for now, he could still be competing if he took better care of his body and ate better. Sure they are his "personal choices", but he is also a professional athlete which being in prime condition is pretty much one of the most important factors. As far as the age factor, means nothing. Sorry but I can name many fighters in their late 30's and 40's that still can get in good physical condition(Hopkins, Holyfield, Glen Johnson, etc.). And Toney has had issues with weight for a long time now, this just is not something recent.

We all know Toney likes to be in the gym and train, BUT it is his eating habits IMO which have always plagued him. It is pretty simple to see considering his body shape for years now. I also know first hand that it is more to do with diet than conditioning when controlling ones weight. You can do all the conditioning in the world, but if you are constantly pigging out and not taking care of your body, you are still going to be overweight. I know it is harder as you get older but its still attainable, but sorry and I love Toney, but it is pathetic the shape he comes to fights. He is a professional fighter, their ONLY job, the least he can do is come fit and ready for himself and the paying fans.

I am not touching your last two brief paragraphs.
