With the recent NFL players (retired) coming out and admitting that they are gay along with some retired NBA players, I was wondering how well would an openly gay boxer that was extremely talented (on the lines or Martinez or Bradely) do in the sport of boxing? Would this harm the sport or would people look at the boxer's performance. Would it hinder the boxer from getting big money fights or would the boxer just be known as the gay boxer? Would yawl support the boxer or shune him? How would the boxing community act?

I used to feel weird around gay dudes. I think it was a combination of the whole societal stigma at the time (In Living Color "Men on Films"), and just growing up making fag jokes with the boys. But once I started working in entertainment, I was kind of forced to deal with it.

Believe it or not, Richard Simmons was one of the first openly gay dudes that I met. The first few times that I worked with him, he would run up to me...all flamboyant and richard simmons style...and try to give me a hug. I was freaked out! I would push my co-workers in the way, move around the cameras...whatever I had to do to get away. You would think that he would get the hint that I don't want a hug from him, but that man is persistant...lol...anyway, the last time it happened we reached a turning point.

I was on set and he caught me by surprise. By the time I saw him running toward me it was too late to get away. I was cornered. So, my natural reaction was to take a step back and put my fists up...I thought, I'm gonna get fired for punching Richard Simmons in the face...lol...he stopped dead in his tracks and said, "Are you gonna punch me?" I told him, "I don't know what you're gonna do." He just turned around and walked away. I felt kind of relieved that he didn't invade my personal space, but I was also a little embarrassed.

After the show, he walked up to me and put his hand out...I shook his hand, and he said in as macho a voice as Richard Simmons could possibly mutter..."Nice to see you." The next few times that we worked together, he would give everyone hugs, and stopped to shake my hand.

Anyway, that story was a little longer than I planned...but that experience changed my perception of gay dudes. As it turns out, the industry is run by homo/hypersexual people. You gotta learn how to swim before you jump in the tank with sharks. I had to rework the way I deal with gay dudes if I was gonna do anything big in the field. My current boss, who is gay, is probably the smartest person that I have ever met. I'd never met someone that was able to head multiple departments of a multibillion dollar company, yet still be meticulous enough to notice the micro details.

This coming of age tale needs an ending, so I'm gonna leave you with this...all gay dudes don't want to suck your dick. It took one of the gayest men on the planet to show me that...and I survived...sans blowjob.

Good overall post, and the part I bolded is exactly why I don't understand why people get freaked out by gay people. Guys walk around, and most of the times, majority of girls don't want to try and suck you off. It comes to gays, and all of a sudden they think they are going to get hit on. Gay's have standards as well, lol.
Only one time, a fag tried to hit on me when I was out. He was with a female friend, and a female friend took an interest to me (I thought at the time), smiling and then sat next to me. Then the guy sat next to her friend, and the girl got up and left us there, haha. Well I spoke to him for about 10-15 minutes, then when I realised what was going on, I just told him it was nice meeting him, got up and left, and that was that. He was never out of line, or made me feel uncomfortable, I just knew where it was going, and no harm done, he can only try.

I agree that the flamboyant ones with a lisp are annoying, but I don't dislike them because they are gay, just because they act annoying.

I just don't understand why people feel bothered or uncomfortable by them. It's like every guy thinks he is irresistible to a fag, and going to get raped or something. Really insecure.
