This weekend isn't packed with hype worthy boxing like the great weekends that have been spoiling us recently. Telefutura has some action on Saturday as does Fox Deportes, but the only match that I'm mentioning is the championship match that's been on the front page of FH:

FRIDAY (around 7-8 am EST because of the time difference?)
Shinsuke Yamanka vs. Vic "the Raging Bull" Darchinyan @ 118lbs for Yamanaka's WBC bantamweight belt.

Yamanaka's 15 wins, 0 L's, 2 draws, with 11 KOs, but Darchinyan's the guy that most people will be watching.

I won't even mention the Toney/Gunn whatever you want to call it any more than I just did.

Yo, IkeNjiro, hook us up with a RBR in this thread if you're watching it.

I can't find this one anywhere.

Im hoping that Vic can pull it off this weekend, so we're able to see him on the big stage again. I thought Katsidis was fighting this weekend, but it's actually next weekend. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Yup, Katsidis is next week, always an entertaining scrap, but I think that he's done the best that he can against top opposition and just isn't on their level. Not sure who he's fighting. Re. Vic and Yamanaka, if Yamanaka's high K.O rate means anything (he could've fought bums, no idea) then who knows what could happen.

Surprise, surprise!

Yamanaka remains undefeated by beating Darchinyan in 12.

According to the judges it was a pretty clear UD for Yamanaka - 117-111, 116-112, 116-112.

I don't think that it's the end of Darchinyan. Tough loss, but I suspect that he'll be back on the scene, he's got a good fan base.

Im trying to see how long it's been since he's been on Showtime. Stuff like that is usually telling (when a guy loses and starts appearing less and less on network tv), but who knows.

Usually a string of wins against lesser opposition to get your bearings back, is the whole process getting back on the big stage. I hope he pulls it together soon though, Showtime fights wont be the same with him....
