I hope, for the sake of African American fighters, Chambers is clean. People will try to pin in on blacks for sure if he pops up dirty. I hear you, but whoever wants to jump to that conclusion is probably mentally challenged anyway, so F them. If random testing was mandatory for every pro-boxing match and African American fighters were the majority of the culprits, then maybe I could see where they're coming from without laughing. |

Eventually they'll get it and it won't be a dilemma. The boxer and his team must be acutely aware of everything that the boxer eats, drinks and any medication that he's taking (all completely feasible). They should also disclose every single thing to VADA at the start of the process. Gotcha! If they can get out of that "reactive" mindset and start being more proactive, then we wouldn't have these issues. I agree with Franchize about the whole African Americans getting the PED stuff pinned on them. I also agree with about those people jumping to those conclusions are retards, but seriously, it has to start somewhere, and "somewhere" started earlier this month with Peterson. |

I agree! To people with knowledge of the sport.... shit knowledge PERIOD, the coincidence being some sort of sign is utterly ridiculous. However, As "democratic" as this country boasts to be, there are some very prominent people with widespread social platforms that make up the "mentally challenged" group you refer to. Let's not forget, not too long ago, it was a "legitimate argument" that teams shouldn't have black QB's because they weren't intelligent enough to run an NFL offense. Sometimes the loudest dummy gets his point across over the quiet genius. It's not always whether your message is intelligent but how many people are willing to listen to you repeat it.
With snakes like Bob Arum, willing to say anything to make a buck, I have no doubt that he'd stoop that low. My buddy, who hangs with Manny during fight weeks, has a theory that Arum likes to employ fighters who are foreign and/or from 3rd world countries because they're easier to take advantage of. For some reason, I'm not worried about this. Maybe it's because they've said worse. These first two instances aren't clear cut examples of doping. The evidence seems to indicate that it's as you said that these boxers' teams weren't proactive, as opposed to them trying to pull a fast one. Nonethelsees, as I've always said there should still be some sort of ban. This post has been edited by Cheesey1: May 23 2012, 01:50 PM |

I was actually wondering the same thing about the Bobfather and the Cuban boxers that he signs. As we know, one of them is trying his best to escape from the plantation.... I just remembered that Pedro 'crazy like a fox' Fernandez has an article on his site that's exactly along these lines re. Cuban boxers. I wouldn't be surprised if The Bobfather has a set up with certain "elements" of the Cuban-American community in Florida that get him first dibs on the guys that defect. In a scenario like that, I doubt that the boxers interests are put first. http://ringtalk.com/cuban-fighters-boxing-...-erislandy-lara This post has been edited by Cheesey1: May 23 2012, 02:36 PM |

eddie mustafa brings up a valid point in the article on the front page. he suggests that maybe some of this is in the meat these guys are eating. after all...we are what we eat and if they're pumping the cows with steroids to beef them up....wouldn't that appear in our system?

Possibly, but highly unlikely. The men and women of testing agencies like VADA and WADA are legitimate experts in their fields of chemistry. I definitely think that they would have considered that possibility a long time ago and developed the adequate tests to identify if that was the case. Steroids in meat, milk etc (when I used to eat meat it was purely the organic kind, except when my lazy self didn't eat at home) have been around for a while. So from a testing perspective it has to be one of the variables that they consider. If they don't, then let me run VADA, WADA etc. This post has been edited by Cheesey1: May 25 2012, 01:08 PM |
