I think the dopest thing about Haymon is that you hardly ever see him. He makes boxing about the fighters and forthat reason alone, I have a lot of respect for him. He's not always hogging the lime light and taking attention away from the fighters.

Yeah he just gets Sam Watson and his sons to do that for him...

Great video commentator with rare picture of Al Haymon and the fighters that he manages. He has become today's Don King, seriously, but totally unlike Don, keeps a very low profile:

u know...they get a lot of shit from fans who are tired of seeing them...but they're good guys who want to make sure that their fighters know they have their back. how often do u see other promoters who don't even show up to their fighters fights at all. they just send them out for slaughter and leave them hanging.

I actually believe that behind TMT is Al Hayman. Floyd knows boxing and 50 knows entertainment but Al has been there and done that for decades. He's also unbelievably smart and obviously his people skills are on the up and up. Nobody screws Arum off money but Al let's put it this way. The way Gamboa got out, I smell Al was behind it. I am sure Bob is mad at Al mostly because of how Floyd got out of Bob Arum.

So TMT is perfect for Al because he's the boss but he's not the lead figure, instead it's Floyd and 50 the most known faces in combat sports and entertainment. That's pure genius!

Good find, Jack, thanks. All I had seen of him previously were few photos here and there, most of which later turned out to be not of him. Some even passed off/posted hate comments on some images of Sam Watson, as those of Al Haymon...LOL.

And thanks for the link in that thread to the NYT article on Al Haymon. Interesting stuff.
