Love them or hate them, trade unions are a fixture in sports. The athletes in those associations seem very happy with them. Would boxers benefit from forming one?

Can somebody please tell me why there isn't a boxing union? Somebody needs to look out for these guys' best interest.

I think the reason is as it was when trade unions were first being formed years ago i.e. the employers (promoters in this case) will blacklist you if you even say the word union. I think that's very short sighted reasoning. Every other major sport has a union and from what I can see that's helped them put out a better product, which means more money for everyone.
