As we all saw Maidana fight from a new standpoint (using his jab constantly and moving his head), does that keep Khan any further from looking Maidana's way? Judging from his performance in the Alexander fight, which most thought he wouldn't make it in the WW division, people looked at him as a stepping stone for Khan at 147.
At this point, Madiana's new style (though it still a bit of polishing) would give Khan shit at the moment. He obviously still has some pop at 147, so how do you see this rematch going? Thoughts? |

maidana definitely showed me stuff i haven't seen him do before. i don't know that he picked that up working with roberto garcia though. that may have been some skills buried deep inside of him from argentina. whatever the case...i like what i saw.
amir should steer clear of maidana for now and get himself a few wins under his belt with his new trainer before he thinks about making another run for it. the problem is see is that he and his ppl are going to want to get paid the big money he's been making...and to get that money, u have to take risks. right now, money should be his last concern. virgil is the kind of guy that can give him the missing ingredients...but that's going to take some stepping back and rebuilding foundation. that means flying off the radar for a little bit. in the end...it'll be worth it. the real question is...'do he and his ppl understand that and are they willing to sacrifice to make that happen?' sometimes u have to take a few steps back and a few to the side...just so u can move up further. |
