I read on espn where Gamboa may be facing Bradley. What's the rush? He's moved up to 130 and he's short. I understand he wants a big payday, and he does have big skills, but why not get one of featherweights to move up to 130 for a fight? There are several names in that division. A fight at 135 with Broner would be fun, once he's available, but I cannot understand why he'd try to jump three divisions. It'll be a mismatch.

Heard about it a couple of days ago over at ESB. They just leading a lamb to slaughter, he has a minimal shot at beating Bradley. Seems like 50 and Arum cashing out on some fighters

Mikey Garcia called Gamboa out after his fight, and it seems that TR is interested in making that fight too. Regardless, I don't think Gamboa beats either fighter, might as well take the better payday.

Also, Rafael said that he's heard rumblings that TR is willing to take step aside money in order to allow Bradley to fight Mayweather in May.

Gamboa would be a stupid fight for Garcia, imo. Along the lines of 'be careful what you ask for'.

Right now, Garcia has a very nice HBO win and a belt and a pretty record. He's 25.

This is when you make some money, continue to build the name, and then start looking for superfights.
He is situated nicely at featherweight with some very excellent, SMALLER, fighters immediately below him, and guys like John available to solidify his claim at feather while things sort out. Gamboa doesn't even bring a belt to the table right now, he just brings a shitload of talent and risk.

He's a big risk but Gamboa has too many vulnerabilities. I say let that fight build and get Gamboa a belt, but whenever they lace up I'd take Mikey
