Mares receives WBC belt, calls out Rigondeaux

On Tuesday in Mexico City, WBC President Jose Sulaiman presented a champion’s belt to world featherweight champion Abner Mares after his victory against reigning titleholder champion Daniel Ponce De Leon.

“I have really wanted to fight in my country, for my people and now I don’t care so much about the money. I want to fight the best and I am ready to face Guillermo Rigondeaux among others,” stated Mares.

I'm picking Rigo by easy UD.

I think Mares is gonna get credit for wins against TR fighters that will never happen. It's like he doesn't even mind calling these dudes out, but again, he has to know that they wont happen.

If Rigondeaux can take out Mares, too. Probably fighter of the year. Well idk with only 2 fights but damn give him some type of reward.

I think Mares would put up a way better fight then Nonito did but Rigo would take him on points...this sucks because the likely hood of this happening is next to none

Definitely I could see mares seriously pressuring rigo and making it ugly. Moreno and agbeko prepared him for this, he can definitely do better then donaire
