Before this khan seemed pretty solid, no problems or even overly.huge problems under ariza but now even blown up lightweights are hurting him. Could this switch of made a difference?

I think that may be the case. Idk what arizas methods are but if you want to be an elite athletes you better respect all aspects of training and preparation especially strength and conditioning in a sport like boxing. And khan looked stronger as well with ariza.

I don't think Ariza's lack of presence in Khan's camp has anything to do with his issues. The problems he's having have always been there. You can't strength and condition a weak chin

You can't but you can take weight off in the right way and recently Khan seems more interested in looking ripped more then anything else. Same with Pac that fight and the fight before he didn't bother with strength and conditioning that much and look were it got him, not to take anything from Marquez but at that level you need to be on top form on all sides of the game

I agree with you about his sudden love for his body image, but he was chinny before during and after Ariza, Maidana was ripping him with vicious shots and I give credit to the work that he did with Ariza for keeping him up. But even with Ariza, the element of him getting KTFO was still there

Khan does need Ariza. That dude has been looking a bit top-heavy in his last few fights.

As MG mentioned, some of these guys need strength & conditioning coaches. Some fighters need them more than others, and honestly, I have no problem with them. Its when a "strength & conditioning coach" comes around, and PEDs are highly suspected, then that's when I have an issue with it.

what khan needs is the right combination and communication between trainer/management/promoter and match maker to get him the right bouts before they cash him out.

at this point...he is what he is. he has the best trainer a guy could have to teach him what he's missing. problem is...khan is his own worst enemy. he lacks the patience and understanding. the changes he needs to make take time. the big fights will come...but in the mean time, he needs to learn to defend that weak chin. limit his aggression and exchanges and stop putting himself in vulnerable positions. the changes he needs to make are not going to occur solely in an 8 week camp. he needs to be working on these things daily under a watchful eye of someone who understands what needs to be done. that is virgil. but khan is already talking mayweather. he's a fool. garcia and matthysse are going to war with each other...and there is no way in hell khan beats the winner of that match.

i get the feeling the matthysse/garcia fight isn't going past 5 rounds. they may take something out of each other. that remains to be seen.
