According to danish press the fight was finally officially signed at a pressconference in Copenhagen yesterday
http://www.teampalle.dk/composite-1442.htmKessler said yesterday that it ain't going to be easy against the fast Calzaghe..
but Calzaghe is beatable and only a human being..
Kessler is convinsed that if he lands 1/3 of the big shots that he did against Andrade on Joe...
the welsh-man will kiss the floor because his chin is weaker then Andrade's..
I think the shots Andrade took were out of this world. Everybody has a china chin compared to him.
Kessler also said that it would be difficult to find a sparring partner with the same style and explosiveness as Calzaghe.
What do you guy`s think, will Calzaghe be floor if Kessler hit`s Calzaghe with some big shots that he did against Andrade ??

Nice!! I'm excited about this fight and I'm pulling hard for Kessler to whip Joe's ass, I get tired of his whining all the time.
When is the official date?

However I favor Calzghe pretty good in this fight, I wouldn't be surprised to see him win impressively.

Calzaghe's gonna beat Kessler and brag about how he's the greatest fighter of his era.

I really hope Kessler wins this. I've never seen him fight, but I'm sick of Joe C getting away with setting records for number of title defenses, when he is defending the weakest of all of the belts, and has done so against the likes of Sakio Bika and Tocker Pudwill.

I hope kessler wins too, he is the future of the division. I don't think too many people could have took the punishment that andrade did in their fight.

Tough fight to pick but I hope kessler wins. He's fought 3 of the top current 10 at 168 and 2 of them are top 5. Now he is fighting Calzaghe. kessler is obviously a guy not afraid of big/tough fights.

Regarding Joe’s technical abilities, then I must say that I don’t like a lot of what I’m seeing. Holding on to your opponent with the right hand while delivering punches to the opponents neck/ear with the inside glove of the left hand. And when coming in with flurries Joe also very often strike his opponents with the underarms.
He can get away with it, since he almost only fight in UK with WBO,In other countries with other referees he would not be allowed to use this style throughout a fight
It is bad for boxing
So i hope Kessler will retire Calzaghe.

Calzaghe's style is unconventional. Doesn't make it wrong. He's also one of the most exciting fighters to watch, which can hardly be bad for boxing. You just need to get your head out of Kessler's arse.

Calzaghe does have an exciting style to watch, but he definitely does that holding and hitting very often and that for sure is another face of his boxing game. I believe he will have to do that as often as possible though to avoid getting countered by Kesslers right hand.

Both guys are very evenly matched. Kessler is the more technically polished of the two and is more powerful. Calzaghe is more faster of both hand and foot, and is more dynamic. Its a close fight. Joe's speed and experience are what makes me think he'll pull out a close but deserved UD, but I do think that he's in for a challenge for sure and he must rise to the occasion.

After the fight is over, there will be one of two things I will probably read on this board. If Joe wins, people will say Kessler was overrated and not that good. And if Kessler wins, people will say I told you Joe was a fraud all along. But hopefully, we will see an evenly matched, competetive, and exciting fight which will produce the no. 1 fighter in the super middleweight division. Also, I sure hope Joe does not pull out of this fight with some type of injury.

The fight will be a KO, or a TKO or probably Calzaghe retiring between rounds. 80% of the fight will be Kessler dominating from distance, 10 % Kessler clinching and holding and the last 10% will be infight where Calzaghe will have an edge but not a lot more than Kessler who has speed and power to get Calzaghe's atension in there

I voted for Calzaghe by a close, but UD. Joe is like a machine in there and he doesn't let you breathe. Kessler is a very good fighter. Calzaghe may have age against him, but I think that Joe has a bit more experience than Mikkel. It will be a very hard fight for both. But there is a certain strength about Calzaghe that I would favor in a tough battle. Kessler has all the tools to make this fight a tough contest, but look at what Calzaghe did to Lacy.
I am not suggesting that he will do the same to Kessler, far from it! But what big names has Kessler fought to put him over the edge in this type of match? This will be in Wales, so we have to look for the home-court advantage for Calzaghe and the possibility of a safety-happy British ref messing up this fight with a quick stoppage the first time, if and when Kessler gets in trouble. These are more reasons to lean towards Calzaghe. I don't think it will be a stoppage, I predict a decision for him.

Yes!
November 3rd is the date. It also looks like HBO will be broadcasting the fight live as well! (They owe us a great fight like this after several years of crap after Lou Dibella left.) This sets an example for ALL of boxing to follow. Great fights on paper DO NOT have to be pay-per-views.
This will be a great day for all of boxing fans throughout the world! I can't wait for this fight!
