Following his valiant effort to lift the world light welterweight crown from Roland Navarette, Sublime Buddy Shine has asked the promoters for more time before putting him in with the elite fighters.

Shine almost caused the biggest upset in Webl history when he held Navarette to a draw in a fight many experts felt that he won. However, instead of seeking a rematch, Shine has moved down to lightweight, a division he shoud have been in in the first place, and has asked the promoters to give him time to learn his trade.

Shine is probably best remembered for being the first man to defeat Miguel Cotto but he wasn't ready for the step up in class and feels it is the story of his career. Too many hard fights to soon in his career have blighted his progress. His performance against Navarette proves, beyond doubt, that he has talent, but if he is continously expected to box the elite, he will never fulfill his potential...
