December will soon be coming to an end and I've thought of an idea to round up our official league's first year (although this thing did start in the summer right? )

Anyway, I thought why not we do Ring Magazine style year end awards. This thread is not one of the official voting threads or the official awards thread itself, just a thread idea to get those other threads together. Since there is always so many fights a week, its hard to keep track of them all to help get them nominated, thats where everyone comes in and helps out with this. Heres a few i've set down as examples or possible nominations.

Gorres & Judah not in the FOTY nominations?

Judah is going to be a legendary figure after Sunday.

I didn't say they were the final nominations, just examples off the top of my head


Zab should probably have an award to himself, somehow fixed for him to win.


FHWeBL 2007 Crack head fighter of the year :

Zab Judah.

But you gotta admit, its amazing how Judah turned his career/life around. From starting his career as 1-6-0 crackhead bum to being a 18-10-0 former champion/hall of famer and the dark lord of Super Judah promotions.

Zab has had a good career.

Taylor is gonna get killed.

I dont know, Simms had a loss against Super and 2 draws against journeyman Bugsy early in his career. And he hasnt dominated his opponents lately. But if you look at his record:

Wheeler Once
Skye Twice
Super Three Times

All these fights were part of his last 7 and he won them all. I dont think theres anyone in the league who has better names in his record, so Simms should be a candidate for FOTY although I dont see him winning it.

What gyms did Oxy-Con-Mon and Tunney fight for. I couldnt find them anywhere.

But after Tunney got blasted in one round, Maxy dumped Tunney from the gym. The only respectable thing to do mind you.


How would you feel if your fighter, a former Light Heavyweight World Champion, got blitz in one round by a 4'10" 139 pound fighter who had a record of 1-9-0 1KO going into the fight?

Sick? Embarrassed? Angry?

All of the above and some. Tunney started his career well and was thought of as a possible clone to Deep Freeze. I admit he'd failed to progress enough for me to see him as one of the fighters I should look after but there was no way I was prepared for that result.

Had to kick him out...why hasn't anyone picked him up....

Its done. Tunney is back in action fighting for our gym.

Although I have to admit I do not see a great champion in his attributes he will become a contender again.

I can't remember his stats but he's definitely a sissy type fighter. You've been having a lot of success with these types lately and you may well be the man to turn his career around.

So does anyone have any suggestions or should I do all the work?

Fight of the Year or Rematch of the Year candidates:

- Simms vs. Super II Simms coming out slugging Super down after a very competitive fight he was losing to keep his title
- Quite some time ago Joshua vs. The Kiss Hope I and II. You cant even count the knockdowns and the boxer who was losing got the KO victory in the end. Problem is both have been champions but they are not great fighters. But their fights may have been the best we have ever seen.

Yeah I think that first fight between the two of them has to be considered when choosing the fight of the year. I've just had another look at it and how Joshua managed to get up from all those knockdowns, and staggering's, to turn the fight around and win is incredible. Mad mad fight.

Here is what I have so far. I need more help on Fights Of The Year, Rounds Of The Year, Comebacks of the Year. Maybe one or 2 more nominations for rematch of the year aswell. Thoughts?

I've refused to contribute to this thread since no one mentioned a Dungeon Member or one of their fights...and that's not cool.
