Full Version: Who's going to Hopkins-Calzaghe?

I've been checking prices and I know I've got to act fast. I'm gonna be flying from the UK and from what I've seen so far, the packages aren't very good. It looks like it's cheaper to book the fight ticket separately from flight & accommodation. When I search for fight tickets, it's pretty much all British sites. Are tickets not on sale yet in the US? The UNLV site says it's not selling tickets until 6th Feb.

Is the fight even official yet?

Not to doubt your credibility or anything, but do you have a link I can go to? Just to kind of back up what you are saying?......Its only the fact I've been looking forward to this fight for a while now and I know it will be, hopefully, the fight of the year. I don't want any other let downs........

This has been confirmed by several sources. The BBC for one:

Secondsout also has the story, boxrec has it on the schedule and several ticket sites too.

I was planning on going, but that's my wife's due date.

I'll be out there.

Already booked a 2,000+ sq ft suite at THE Hotel as a back up plan in case my main plan falls through.

Which hotel is 'THE Hotel'? I'm plannin to stay at the MGM Grand.

THE Hotel is the name of the hotel. They have one in NYC and LA, and also one in Vegas - although to be clear, it is on the upper floors of the Mandalay Bay. As I understand it, they are higher end and not part of Mandalay Bay although they share the same building.

That said, this has become my fall back plan, as I am working on putting something together with a few friends, one of whom is an ex-casino host and now concierge out in Vegas, so I am thinkin the venue could change into a bigger/better situation. We'll see.

A bit off topic, but I'm still really surprised that this fight is not PPV and will be on regular HBO. I'm not complaining, but I'm just surprised.

A friend of mine is going to the fight and if I had the money, I would love to go. Likely I'll end up watching it at home or something.
