I can chill to this all day...Classic Common with Hi Tek on the beat.
The CEO
Ohhhhh...there's so many to choose from...

I always gave Sadat an ear...a strong co-rapper....Brand Nubian....he had some serious tracks on his first solo joint (that I made sure to cop)....Wild Cowboys was its name...if only his content matched his stylish voice....

I've been TRYING to tell you about The D.O.C. though....the original beat to this was funk as a skunk...but this remix right here hits you from all angles.

Mind Blowin' (Redux)

Lets continue with the madness.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S07Q1yKLMkE Arguably RZA's best beat.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8btIzccJzg4 Nothing like a grimey beat with a young Snoop.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQHHdrzU4P0 Premo almost never fails no matter what.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ooBhpO9wPBI Changing up a bit but only slightly.

Not to sound too gay or anything, but I always thought Phil Collins In the Air Tonight had a nice fucking beat to it.

If we're talking exclusively about hip-hop, there are too many there to make any definitive statment on favorites. I always liked Ghetto Mafia's Straight from the Dec. Most of Pac's hard shit usually had some nice beats, War Stories coming to mind immediately.

Even gay ass Nas had some decent hooks. If I ruled the World was acceptable, even if it was a colloaboration between 2 of the gayest artists known to man. (Nas and Lauryn Hill.)

Overall though, no one did that shit better than Michael Jackson. Billy Jean is timeless.
PR316
CEO I was gonna throw on "Living In America" by or "The Big Pay Back" on there as well.

The drums on "In The Air Tonight" are sick as hell. Unbelievable.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yPudiBR15mk This is just unbelievable right here.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zhWGDGHupYA A little westcoast with Nate Dogg on the hook.

The CEO
I like that we're bringing beats from other than Rap/Hip Hop...that's why I asked BG for his input earlier...laugh.gif

How about this one from Prodigy....Breathe

and this one from Led Zeppelin....When The Levee Breaks

BigG
lol....for Webl players..the track I use for Zab Judah. The music video/song is hot. Zab Judah can be spotted in the music video.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=3nu1GgXCn2g

"Suicidal Thoguhts" from Biggies deubt album had one of the darkest/rawest beats I've ever heard. I love it.

How the fuck can u hate on Nas??? A lyrical genius....stop drinking the water whereever you are, because its turning your brain into mush
Rivado
Nothing too refined lyrically speaking but just good hard California Backyard Boogie Beats.:

Everlasting Bass - Rodney O & Joe Cooley
Don't Fight the Feeling - Too Short
Tonight - DJ Qwik
And from F-L-I-N-T, Ain't no future in yo frontin - MC Breed

You can also add just about everything by Psycho Realm/DJ Muggs and just about everything by X-Clan. Both a little higher on the lyrical evolutionary scale for style and content, IMO.

CEO - The D.O.C. "Funky Enough". Ripe shit. I was listening tothat the other day on Youtube. So funny.

I have SO SO many.

The early Run D.M.C. got me into it all...Rock Box, King of Rock, etc. etc...but after that is was just on...

Follow The Leader - the Base line in the beginning, followed by that graveyard scratch is/was/always will be nasty.

I mean, so many beats to name...

Take it Personal - Gang Star

I can be a sucker for a sweet scratch beat...

It could be anything though...

There are just so many. Let me look back through this thread and get back to you guys...

"Murder Rap" was a tight ass West Coast beat back in the D.O.C. days (it was 187, or some group...fuck, I forget)....

My rap tastes are so fucking eclectic, and yet there are certain groups I just have never been into that so many people liked.

Bring tha Pain, How High...most of Funk Doc and Tical is hot lyrcal shit.

lilpoppapump
There are so many but my favorites are:

Triumph - Wu Tang
Wu Tang Clan Ain't Nothing To F*uck Wit - Wu
Can't Truss It - Public Enemy
Bring the Pain - Method Man
Hail Mary - Makaveli
Time 4 Sum Action - Redman

I could go all day but those are my favorites.
Abdul
It's Yours - T-Larock
Peter Piper - Run DMC
You Must Learn - BDP
The Bridge - MC Shan
Rock The Bells - LL Cool J
Follow The Leader - Erc B. & Rakim
The Breaks - Kurtis Blow
Take It Personal - Gangstarr
You Know My Steez - Gangstarr
Work - Gangstarr
Now Your Mine - Gangstarr
Bitchez Ain't Shit - Dre & Snoop
Gangsta Gangsta - N.W.A.
Talkin All That Jazz - Stetsasonic
Wrath Of Kane - Big Daddy Kane
Punks Jump Up To Get Beat Down - Brand Nubian
Unbelieveable - Biggie
Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nuthin To Fuck Wit - Wu-Tang Clan
Incarcerated Scarfaces - Raekwon
Wu-Gambinos - Wu-Tang Clan
Criminology - Raekwon & Ghostface & Masta Killa
Nas Is Like - Nas
Represent - Nas
2 Of America's Most Wanted - Tupac
Uptown Anthem - Naughty By Nature
Rapper's R N Danja - Krs-One
MC'S Act Like They Don't Know - Krs-One
BigG
"1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9....it's the ten crack commandments, what!"

Yeah that was all good. Think you mean Above The Law and they had an MC....um....cold 187 if I remember right...
The CEO
How about these beats?

Belgian Beatboxing Champion, Roxorloops.

Just watched them high with my headphones on... ohmy.gif

That was in 2006, but I'm sure he's still one of the best on Earth.

Gangstarr - So Wassup....one of the best ever. I used this for the Hopkins video I put up on youtube.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=765AcosnNnQ

Gangstarr ft. Jeru The Damaja and Lil Dap...First beat of the song is the best.

Method
Hot vid, Geo, and the music was great for it. My ONLY criticism is that the first song ran out before the vid was over, and the follow up beat, "So Wassup" wasn't as strong as the first beat you used, "Full Clip"

"You niggaz talk crime/But you scared of jail" (As Hopkins knocks Echols out of the ring).

Loved it.
