RESPONSE TO Boxingtalk beef.

When it comes to business I rarely burn bridges. There are only 2, well now 3 that I have actually had to completely destroy.

When it comes to B-talk Greg's version is altered to benefit him. He has his version I have mine. I will start off by saying Greg's arrogance is the main problem. He seems to think he has risen to the level of celebrity status and is now equal to that of the fighters. Being a person who is privileged to be in the company of the elite I have honest access to the real opinions of people and not the media perception they need to portray and I can assure you 95% of the powers that be in boxing think Greg Leon is a joke. They entertain him because he is a nag and because Boxingtalk did at one time have some credibility. But the site has gone way down from where it once was.

In the early stages of Boxingtalk Shane & I were helping hands in buliding the site. I would hold exclusive contests with the site and would grant Greg exclusive interviews. I also went as far as banning Maxboxing for Greg. Which was very stupid of me being that they are the far superior website compared to B-Talk. I also would give Greg first hand scoops to information and would insist that he received information before other media. There were also times when Greg gave me first hand info and I would send him a check to show my gratitude when he complained how no one ever looked out for him. All in all we established a friendship and a loyalty to one another that his arrogance and ego destroyed.

After Diego died and Pigman went on record to tell horrible lies about my relationship with the Corrales's I along with Michelle sat down and wrote a rebuttle. I sent it to Greg to post as he has done many times before for me. A few days went by and there was no reply from Greg. I finally got ahold of him and he said it would post tomorrow when it didnt post I left it alone. I then received a call from 3 different ppl saying how Pig was furious with the e-mail and was going to sue. Come to find out Greg sent it to Gary. I called Greg inquiring why he would send it to Gary. I told him it's fine if you didnt want to post it. It is YOUR website but then why send it to him? I felt betrayed. When I asked him this he basically shrugged me off like whatever. And told me that Pig is a paying advertiser. I basically told him then that the friendship was over. I told him we both know how the other is relentless and spiteful and as a favor to eachother to just go on as neither one ever existed. I then banned him from the Cotto fight. He would call throughout and we would cordially speak but I told him I would not lift the ban. He is like a child and needed to be taught a lesson. At the time I was not burning the bridge just having fun with him. 4 days before the Cotto fight Greg went on to call GBP and other people and tell them blatant lies about me. He tried to call Shane directly and tell him things he has been hearing and fuck with his head. I called him and he lied at first then making threats and we had a war of the words. I of course won when he surrendered and swore my name or my familys would never leave his mouth again. 3 weeks later he texts me some more bullshit.

Greg is a bottom feeder. He thinks his jordans and his red monkey jeans catapult him into stardom. Anyone who has the pleasure of meeting him will tell you his braggart ways and maniacal tendencies are comical at first but then annoying. He has lost anyone & everyone who was close to him.

I apologize to all the fans that continue at his site for the lack of Shane interviews but he will be interviewing at Fighthype.com consistently and also by request. Check that site for a contest to win tiks and hotel to the upcoming fight.

Hype, first I wanted to apologize to you for calling you a prick a year or so back during an argument we were having on an old b-talk thread about Mayweather-Margarito. I was out of line then. You seem like a cool dude.

My question to you is, since you're such a big boxing and MMA fan, I was wondering if you also like (or used to like) professional wrestling as well? Specifically, were you a fan of WCW back in the mid-late 90's? Cause this whole btalk/fighthype split kinda reminded me of the nWo split when Hollywood Hogan's ego got so out of control that Kevin Nash dumped him and led a rogue faction of the crew into becoming the nWo black and red? Greg in this case fits the role of Hogan to a tee, past his prime and becoming more and more outlandish (hence the leash) but too blinded by ego and self-promotion to realize he's turning into a mockery of himself. Avon Barksdale would be Brutus Beefcake or one of HH's other old lackeys. You get to be Nash. And if you see the parallels, maybe we could all start calling you 'Big Sexy' as well? Just a thought.

i've always thought about organizing an even that some of the message boarders could go to and try and meet each other. ever thought about this, like at a fight someting. like the annual fighthype convention. i think it would be pretty cool to get together with the people you constantly shoot the shit with. some of the foreginers might have some logistical issues. what do you think hype?

People can trade dvds through the mail. No charging, just straight trades, or B+P's (send blanks and postage).

And we can have a thread where the inevitable bad traders names will go, and people will know not to trade with them.

that would be easier than setting up a torrent system or taking hours to upload files, only to have them reported.

I'm on a site called tapetrader.com and there people trade bootlegs of concerts (audio and video).

I remember seeing a bunch of the Max crew chillin' at one of the bars at the MGM during Mayweather-DLH....they were having a blast. Meanwhile, I was busy duckin' and dodgin' a certain somebody because, for some reason, he just felt like he had to be glued to me at the hip. I think it could be something we might look at. But it would really have to be a separate form that we could screen to keep out the infomercial solicitors and Viagra ads, shit! We have been getting more of those than usual. Keep it boxing and MMA only.

That would be a cool idea. The only thing is, I read one of the things above with regard to keeping track of a "bad trader." You don't want to do that on an open forum! That leads to spaming and trolling. And we should have a disclaimer that Fighthype as our company assumes no responsibility or liability for trades that may not work out. Something happens in a trade between the parties, one believes he got gypped, and comes to the board to flame the person, even if something happened unintentionally. That would be the only thing that I wouldn't want to happen.

To guide against something like that, we should make the trade forum PRIVATE where the long-time members of the community know the Fight Hype family where trust has long been established and maintained.

Hey Gregzilla, just wanted to holla and say that you are still stomping the comp and Boxingtalk is the only place to be for the latest and greatest in boxing news. It's been a good minute since I've written and I just wanted to drop a line to say thanks to you and the Boxingtalk staff for all of the hard work you guys do to provide us the fans with the best boxing coverage anywhere. Okay enough before ya start to blush! LOL First I just wanted you give out a report card, and grade the year in boxing we've had early on so far. Personally I think this is one of the better years boxing has had in a good while. We've already had a lot of marquee match ups and, a hell of a lot more on the way! But also we the fans have been treated to some pretty good scraps on ESPN, Telemundo, Telefutura and Verses. I don't think anyone who says that boxing is losing out to MMA has a leg to stand on. Okay and now for the million dollar question. What's up with the Mosleys? I remember when you first took over this site you were one of Shanes biggest supporters. Boxingtalk has always been good to Shane. What gives man? I've been following BT since you took over and I've never know you take a cheap shot at Shane, or Jin for that matter. Leon's Response: Took me a while to start because I was too busy blushing. It's a long story, one that I might decide to write about in full detail at some point in the near future. Jin and I had a serious difference of opinion and although I felt it wasn't worth buring the bridge over, evidently she did. There's much more to it than that, but frankly, my biggest mistake was ever giving her the forum to gain recognition with boxing fans through BoxingTalk. Had she not grown accustomed to spewing whatever she wanted to on BoxingTalk, this BS wouldn't be going on. Shame on me for making her opinion matter. In the words of Akon, you can put that blame on me.

I think the next time we will have a few people at a fight will probably be Cotto Margarito if it happens and its NYC although it's harder to get people to go to places like NYC (the price of hotels is insane) or AC (shitty other than the Boardwalk) rather than Vegas.
