Full Version: Upcomming must see fights
Not too many of these are MUST-SEE fights IMO, but I'll give it a shot...
Sept 6 - Diaz UD Katsidis. Also Barrios UD Juarez. Both should be excellent fights.
Sept 13 - Marquez UD Casamayor. This I think will be much easier than expected.
Sept 13 - Campbell KO 10 Guzman. Plays out like a reverse of Campbell's embarrassing loss to Peden. Guzman dominating and gets cocky.
Sept 27 - Mosley TKO 9 Mayorga; Berto UD Forbes
Oct 4 - Abraham TKO 7 Marquez. Ref, corner or doctor stop the fight.
Oct 11 - Tarver KO 6 Dawson. Chad looks like he has a big loss coming and I think AT is a bad style match for him.
Oct 11 - Peter TKO 4 Vitali. Big Klit quits with no explanation given.
Oct 18 - Pavlik UD Hopkins. Ugly fight, much debate afterwards, Pavlik loses all respect from FH posters forever.
Nov 8 - Calslappy UD Jones. Wouldn't be surprised if Roy gets stopped again on an accumulation of pitty-pats.

klits may give Peter fits. Vitali can box and may be heavier handed than his younger brother. He is not as Athletic as his younger brother. He may fight Peter the way he fought Danny Williams. Don't count Klitscho out dude. I will cheer for peter but i think the jab is the main factor.

V.Klitchko does have heavier hands then Wlad. but Wlad is way faster and better on his feet..V. Klitchko can't be knocked out though(he took Lennox's best straight right and right uppercut,possibily Lennox's best right uppercut in his career)..V. Klitchko would smash Peter,the only thing he has going against him is ring rust..
Calzaghe Vs Roy is a tough call..It all depends on what Roy shows up..I think i have to go with Calzaghe though because of his pace..
Marquez Vs. Casamayor,I think I gotta go with Casamayor..Marquez has shown that southpaws don't bug him too much,but fast southpaws do..He will need to land alot of right hands and not get hit by Casamayor's big left which I don't see happening(do ya all remember when Casamayor punched Corrales' mouth piece through his lip?)..Marquez and Casamayor are both very smart crafty fighters but I don't think Marquez should of moved up after the Pac-man fight even though he put up such a good fight..It'll be a really interesting fight to watch for sure since I am a fan of both..Tough call though..The should of called this fight the battle of the back hands since Marquez's right and Casamayor's left is going to make the final deciding factor..
Diaz vs. Katsidis Sept. 6th - Diaz by TKO. I think he's gonna swell and cut up Katsidis' eyes. I will also be there live!
Casamayor vs Marquez Sept 13th - I'm torn on this one. I know this will be a very close fight. Casamayor is moving up in age, and Marquez is moving up in weight. Both are as skilled as they come. But Casamayor has a little more pop and speed. And is just a little bit more clever. I like Casamayor's straight left over Marquez' straight right. I'll take Casamayor by a close decision.
Campbell vs Guzman Sept 13th - Another tough one. If Campbell fights like he did against Diaz, then he wins this clearly. But he has a tendency to be inconsistent. Guzman is also moving up in weight and has never fought at 135 before. He will still be quick, but I think he'll slow down just enough for Campbell to bully him around. I'll take Campbell by a close decision.
Mosley vs Mayorga Sept. 27th - Mosley by KO in about 8. No worries here.
Berto vs Forbes Sept 27th - Berto by a close decision in a tougher than expected fight.
Abraham vs. Marquez Oct. 4th - Abraham by KO. Will probably be Raul's last fight.
Tarver vs Dawson Oct. 11th - Dawson by a close but clear decision.
Peter vs Klitschko Oct. 11th - Tough one because we don't know what to expect from this version of Klitschko. The Vitali of old would most likely stop Peter late. Does he still have the strength and consistency in his jab and right hand? I have faith that he does. Klitschko by TKO 10.
Pavlik vs Hopkins Oct. 18th - Hopkins will make Pavlik struggle. However, Pavlik's high workrate and Hopkins' low workrate will make this fight close, especially on the judges' scorecards. Hopkins is too good defensively to get significantly hurt in this fight, and I think he will make Pavlik look pretty basic. Like the Calzaghe fight, I think Hopkins will win enough rounds to win a close decision. I don't know if the judges will give it to him though. I will go ahead and call it Hopkins by a close decision.
Kessler vs Haussler Oct. 25th - Kessler by KO.
Jones vs. Calzaghe Nov. 8th - Calzaghe by a close decision. Roy has a good chance, but I don't trust his mentality, and I think Calzaghe's workrate will win it clearly.
Taylor vs Lacy Nov. 15th - Taylor by a wide decision. When these fighters were undefeated, I predicted Taylor would win if they ever fought. My prediction is the same.
Hatton vs Malignaggi Nov. 22nd - I believe this fight will be very similar to Hatton-Collazo. I think Hatton will win a very close, controversial decision.
Delahoya vs Pacquiao Dec. 6th - Say it ain't so...but if it happens, I favor DLH by an 8-4 type decision. DLH-Margarito would be a much better fight, and I would favor DLH by a close decision.
