Diaz-Katsidis: Diaz UD:

This figures to be a war. Katsidis the huge puncher against Diaz who throws volumes of non-power punches should make for an exciting fight. This fight will also tell a lot about each fighters two loses, Katsidis to Casamayor and Diaz to Cambell. Who has recovered more? I think Katsidis may be a little more vulnerable getting hit in the chin, even though Diaz doesn't have punching power. Diaz is the higher volume puncher, and Casamayor, not exactly noted as a KO specialist, had Katsidis on the floor several times, while tasting the deck himself in an unexpected war. This is a coin flip, but I will give the edge to Diaz by scores of 115-113 twice and 116-112

Juarez-Barrios: Barrios SD

It seems that the once good Rocky Juarez has gone into a pattern of doing just enough not to win big fights, while still being competitive. Rocky seems to be suffering from sparring partner syndrome. The Barrera rematch SUCKED and Rocky hasn't been the same since. Barrios when he wants to can still go to war and seems to have more of a will to win than recent Juarez fights. However, I think this fight will be more like Barrios' fight with Guzman, which was more of a boxing match. If it is, it's No Doze time and Juarez once again will not want to pull the trigger in many close rounds to get the win. Scores will be 115-113 Juarez, 116-112 Barrios and 115-113 Barrios.

Diaz-Katsidis has a whole lot of possible outcomes. Either 1 of the 4 most common outcomes (TKO or decision for either fighter) wouldn't come as a total shock. Looking forward to this fight, but I like Diaz by decision. If Rocky gets stopped, good chance it's on cuts. His skin is like paper. He tears up so easy.

This actually makes a good undercard , man what happened to a good stack full card nowadays???
Well i am excited about this match up, style makes fights, and this will be BLOODY!!

I predict a stoppage, tko, ko or cuts maybe by round 10, Diaz pulls it off.

Diaz-Katsidis is close to a pick'em fight. I'd say it's about 55-45 in favor of Diaz. I favor Diaz too because he is a little more polished (especially defensively) and Katsidis is a little crude. Diaz isn't as sharp of a puncher as Casamayor, but I think Diaz will cut and swell up Katsidis' eyes with his volume punches. Katsidis' face is always such a mess after every fight. By no means am I counting Katsidis out though. He is ultra aggressive and powerful, and Diaz hasn't faced a fighter like this before. We'll find out for sure just how good Diaz's chin is. I'm calling it Diaz by TKO in 10 due to cuts and swelling, but nothing would surprise me here.

Juarez-Barrios is a little easier to pick, IMO. Barrios has been inactive for over a year, and the weight limit for this fight was moved up to 133 because Barrios is having trouble making weight. That's not a good sign for him. More importantly, Juarez is more skilled. Barrios tends to get wild and loops his punches. I trust Rocky's chin and power, and he should be able to pick Barrios apart. Juarez has lost to Barrera and Marquez, two of the best technical boxers in the world. There's no shame in that. I believe this will be Rocky's time to shine. Barrios has a lot of heart though. He's not going down without a fight. This should be a good fight too. I've got Juarez by a clear UD.

Diaz/Katsidis is gonna be a war I see both guys going down but Katsidis tender skin will not hold up. Daiz by TKO due to cuts late in the fight.

Im suprised alot of people are picking "take your your time" Rocky Juarez over Barrios. I think Barrios will be too active for the very passive Juarez but I hope im wrong.

I agree about Juarez's tighter punches playing a key in the fight. Let's not forget Juarez is a good puncher.

Diaz-Katsidis should be a war. Katsidis wants to win, he has to beat Diaz's body just like Campbell did as well as Angulo. Diaz is going to have to box in certain spots here. I think it could be a good opportunity to show us he's as good a boxer as he was in the amateurs. If that doesn't work he can always go back to slugging.

Rooting for Katsidis and Barrios....but they're probably gonna lose....

Katsidis may have a better shot at winning since Diaz got worked over by an old man in his last fight....I can see that coming back to haunt Diaz mentally during battle.....

Technically they both got worked over by old men in their last fights.

From the time the fight was first announced my heads been saying Diaz by decision... but fuck it... Katsidis by KO aggressive.gif ... ooh yeah LOL
BigG
Hmmm.... I think Katsidis definitely hits harder than Diaz but Diaz is just so much more accurate, he's going to slice Katsidis up.

Barrios-Juarez....I think Barrios will outwork him..but I read Barrios is having alot of trouble making weight. Remember he weighed in over the limit vs Guzman.

lol...this is true....but Katsidis strikes me as the type of guy who doesn't think when he's warring....I can see Diaz thinkin' twice if ya know what I mean....

I laid a little scratch on both Katsidis and Juarez. Nothing major, just enough to make it watch worthy. Only concern with Katsidis is his skin seems to be made of paper mache.

I think the difference is, that Campbell outworked and basically beat Diaz good and properly. With the Katsidis-Casamayor fight, Casamayor had the early lead, but towards the end, he was getting outworked and beat up by Katsidis, the last round or 2 go closer again after they both had some dominant rounds. While I'm not saying the punch Casamayor landed was lucky, but he was lucky that he landed it when he did. He was in a very dangerous situation on the cards and chance of him getting stopped also.

To be honest, I was kind of a little bitter and still am that nobody called or ever seemed interested in a rematch with Katsidis-Casamayor. It was a fight where I think a rematch was warranted, and a fight where I think Katsidis would probably win in a rematch. Not sure why nobody cared for the rematch.
The CEO
Yeah....there WAS a difference in the losses....I'm thinking Diaz basically wasn't ready for a focused, mad, old Campbell that night...he steadily got beaten on more than Katsidis did....

I think I remember Campbell yelling "ALL NIGHT LONG!!" at Diaz after a couple of rounds...lol...that'll get to you....Diaz probably has nightmares of Campbell being relentless and taunting him....

and you're not alone on the forgotten rematch...I just let it go because I can't do shit about it....but I thought one was definitely warranted....

Will be heading out to the Toyota Center in about 2 hours. There are actually 9 fights on this card! thumbsup_anim.gif

I think way too many people forget that in the Diaz loss.....he was doing very well UNTIL the cut.....it was all down hill from there....Nate Campbell had less to do with the loss than Diaz's concern for the cut. Once he got cut he was a totally different fighter....he was actually laying his head on the guy's chest to protect the eye....it totally took his head out of the game....and IMHO was the reason for the first loss. It was his first cut...and it was a doozy as well....HOPEFULLY should it ever happen again he will respond better.

I think he beats Katsidis with sheer unrelenting pressure.....I know the guy wants to re-establish himself and do so in a spectacular fashion.....he will know the world is watching....and I think he will make it count!

That's what Texans do!
