So i'm thinking of going to Vegas with a some friends of mine sometime in the spring to watch a boxing bout (HOPEFULLY Pac vs Mayweather or Pac vs Hatton) and spend 4-5 nights in Vegas getting hammered and roaming the city among other things.

I'm sure a few of you on this forum have been to Vegas to watch fights, I wasjust wondering:
- How is the seating?? How is the view from the balcony, different places throuhgout the venue etc
- What is the atmosphere like
- What is the charge to attend the weigh in/ Is it free if you have tickets for the fight?
- Any good sports bars around Vegas to watch a good fight in case we don't get tickets???

Kind of a dumb question, but i'm curious and I want to make sure i'm spending the most for my money (looking for tickets below $500 since we all have tight budgets)

There is really no bad seats at the MGM Grand. So you dont have to spend a bunch of money to get good seats (unless you're ballin).

the Weigh- In are free but get there early because they fill up quick.

If you are going to see Hatton or Pacquiao the atmosphere will be CRAZY!. I went to the Cotto-Margarito fight and that was insane.

as far as the bars... I hung out in the Sportsbook @ the MGM.

Never been there, but I am pretty sure you would need to get your tickets way before the week before the fight on ticketmaster. A fight of that magnitude would sell out pretty quick I think. Especially the cheaper seats. So you should definately have tickets purchased before making the actual trip to Vegas. I could not see traveling to Vegas, if I could not see the actual fight live. But thats me. So just keep an eye out for the fight you want to see and see when ticketmaster starts selling tickets, and purchase them ASAP.

I was sitting in Section 107 and the tickets were 300 a piece...

But if I knew what I know now, I would have went with cheaper tickets, there wasn't that much of a difference in the quality of the view.

Yeah we're planning on buying our tickets on ticketmaster right as they go on sale, once we get our tickets we're going to book our flight/hotel etc

Does anyone know the max number of tickets one can purchase for big boxing fights in Vegas?????????
