QUOTE
Legendary boxing commentator Reg Gutteridge has died at the age of 84.
The journalist, who boxed as an amateur, became a reporter after the Second World War when he lost a leg after stepping on a landmine at Normandy.
He became a household name as ITV's voice of boxing, forming a memorable partnership with the former world lightweight champion Jim Watt.
He was awarded an OBE in 1995 and worked at six Olympic Games.
Gutteridge became friends with many of the boxers he commentated on and Muhammad Ali once visited him in hospital during the 1980s.
His daughter Sally said: "He was a much-loved husband, father and grandfather. He touched many lives."
