Please note that the link below "FH 2010: WBO Round 1" will take you to the first round of predictions for the contest. To predict, just post a reply in that thread, giving the name of the fighter and result (i.e KO, TKO, UD, SD) that you think will happen in the fight.

FHPL 2010 (WBO): Round 1
STEVENSKI
I posted my predictions but it may be helpfull to have a full list of the rules, scoring system & regulations linked to the OP as well. Also not sure if it is doable but it would be better to have the points set by the betting line as otherwise say you pick a underdog to beat a favourite there is no real incentive to take that risk however say the line was Favourite $1.27 Dog $3.65 you would get 1.27 or 3.65 points respectively. Just thought I would throw that out there.

I posted a URL link to the Rules in the OP. That should help. But for questions and concerns right now it looks like Rivado and whoever else he chooses to designate will be running the show. We have always left any contest rules up to the mods who choose to help out by running them.

But I do hope we get more participation this time!!!!

I'm in as well, but I have to agree with Stevenski in that including the odds on some level makes a lot of sense. Dawson is a 4-1 favorite to beat Johnson this weekend, yet there is no incentive to go against the grain and pick Johnson (especially given the fact that the decisions have been so biased towards HBO fighters recently) in what seems to be a pretty evenly matched fight. On the other hand, picking a draw in a close fight seems to be overly attractive in terms of the game in that it is a free shot at 16 points vs. 2 points for picking the winner. So in this fight in particular, if you think it's going to be a close fight that might go towards Johnson if the refs are fair and the fight mimics their first fight, it's a much smarter risk-adjusted bet to bet on a draw rather than picking a winner due to the structure of the game.

I'm not being critical, as I'm grateful for your effort. But I did notice that Fitz actually picked Yorgey over Angulo, which seems to be a risk that he should be compensated for.

My suggestion as to how the odds should be handled would be to keep things as simple as possible by taking the odds (where available) for every fight (maybe fighthype creates its own odds for non-published odds fights) and has each player simply pick a winner for each fight. At sportsbook.com Dawson is a 4-1 favorite over Johnson, so a player picking Dawson to win could win one point if he won by ud/ko/sd ect. or ZERO points if Dawson lost. And a player picking Johnson to win would win 4 points if he won or zero if he lost. I would take the draw/nc ect off the table as it makes the game too complicated. And in fights like the Judah fight this weekend, I wouldn't bother having a choice between the fighters, I'd just have a round selection for the ko (with maybe a Judah loss prediction receiving the same number of points as the correct ko round selection).

Those are just ideas. Mostly, thank you for your effort!
