I'm hearing GREAT things about Paranormal Activity and 2012.....have you all seen them yet?

I've heard that Paranormal Activity is pretty good but 2012, apart from some already done special effects, is the ultimate in pure unadulterated CHEESE!

Amazing special effects, but the story line and dialogue, etc, is a big helping of cheese sandwich. With cheese for bread.

Great flip, great acting. Heard they're coming out with "The Fighter". Story about Mickey Ward. Should be a good flick.

Also,Drag me to Hell is another really sweet movie..It has one really weird part but the rest of the movie is bad ass..

I heard that "Law Abiding Citizen" is supposed to be dope.

Drag me to hell is a messed up movie..It might scare you or it might not..If you only saw about 15 minutes,you missed a lot of crazy stuff..It is meant to be scary..

It didn't scare me but it scared people I was with..I feel that Drag me to hell and Paranormal Activity have been the best scary movies out in a longgg time..Like I said before though,Drag me to hell has one really weird part in the movie but the rest is bad ass..You should check it out..Public Enemies was a dope movie too Fitz,your blazed ass missed out..hahaha..

Blaze, I never picture you actually doing anything but training and sitting in some shitty basement watching tapes of old fights. Yelling at the shitty 12-inch black and white tv, i told you griffin was the best. Maybe running, and occasionally finding the time to beat your girl, but that's about it.

Paranormal Activity is cool if you tell the girl you go with that it's REAL footage.

I took the wife to see A Serious Man...it's the Cohen Brother's new flick. It should win some awards this year...although if you don't like Cohen movies, or if you like your movies to be wrapped in a pretty box with a bow on top...then I'd probably stay away from it.

We went to a Cinebistro to see it...which is AWESOME! You make reservations for the seats that you want, show up a half hour before the screening time, and the ushers will walk you to your seats. Then a server comes out, takes your food and drink orders, you pay the man, and they bring your shit to you in the theatre.

It's not movie food either, it's actually pretty damn good food! I had a couple of beers, with ribs, and some kind of peanut butter and chocolate dessert. When the movie starts, the servers leave the theatre. If there is anything else that you want after that, you can either go to the bar in the lobby, or tell one of the servers that waits by the theatre doors.

The seats themselves are like first class theatre seats...large, leather, and they have a table top that swings over you to eat off of. Kind of like the recliners at ESPN Zone...and there is only 20-30 in the entire theatre, with sizeable gaps between them. So when you're in your seat, you don't feel like anybody is on top of you.

I highly recommend checking it out if you have one close by...it's a bit pricey, but an incredible date spot. Put it this way, if you're single...it's guaranteed ass that you CAN'T screw up!

The manager told me that they show Monday Night Football there free of charge. I asked about fights...she said that they will in the future, but because they'd only been open for a couple of weeks, they didn't have time to properly promote Pac-Cotto.

I will probably go there to watch Pac-Mayweather if the fight ever happens.

Kinda...Cinebistro is more trendy. It's a place that you'd feel under-dressed if you went wearing shorts and sandals.

But the premise is the same...

Anyone who watches emo glittery vampires and is not a teenage girl is a certified homo.

It's so hyped and famous and everyones talking about it. It's so fuckin gay...

I do understand basic hype/pop culture tendencies....We have had the last 3 Star Wars films, Blair Witch Project, Saws, Harry Potter, Lord of the RIngs and a whole host of other films that have captivated the masses.

What I do NOT get in relation to this Twilight crap is how is can catch on to the degree it has being SO BAD. Love or hate ANY of the films I mentioned above...they all had things going for them...either spectacular effects, decent actors or decent story lines.

Twilight has NONE of these things....not one. The story is pure instance after instance of rip offs from other commodities, the basic set up is a a large part rip off of Underworld. The acting is quite awful and the effects are some of the worst ever put on a screen for HUGE extended theatrical releases.

I could understand if it were NOTHING but teenage girls watching this shit....but the numbers show that there HAS to be quite a large number of people outside of that demographic watching this garbage.

One reviewer said watching this new movie was like waiting in line at the post office....

I really believe that the masses of today are 1000x worse than any other generation when it comes to accepting pure crap as entertainment if it is backed by the media....which is all this series has going for it....

BUT...that seems to be effective.

Bad part about that is once Hollywood sees that it can earn that kind of cash with THIS low of a level of output.....we will see more and more of this garbage.

Its not new but I Finally seen The Wrestler this weekend. Thats a damn good movie!

2012 was entertaning. You were right about it but the effects were amazing.

Wife and me went out for dinner for my bday over the weekend and said she wanted to see this movie afterwards. Well I did not even see the 1st one,she did, so I did not want to go. My wife said she loved the first one. I remember when the first one came out on dvd, I had like 20+ women in our theater room to watch it. They all loved it, even my older brother loves it.

Anyway, what the heck did you go see it for? Not being a smartass either, just curious.

My lady came to visit for Thanksgiving. She wanted to watch those Twilight Movies. So Saturday night we downloaded it off iTunes and Sunday we went to see New Moon. She loved it and is excited about the third edition coming out. I was confused cause I had no idea where the story was going. Nothing I'll go see again though and I usually like chick flicks. Something New is probably my favorite.

I did not go see it, I would never pay any amount of money to fund such crap. I'm basing it on the trailers I have seen, reviews and some snipets a friend of mine forced me to view, as well of some passages from the books she made me read....it's bad movie making based on bad writing.

It's crap wet pussy material....and not much else. It's like those cheap Harlequin romance novels...quick, cheap and easy....but not a masterpeice by any stretch of the means.

Twilight is a complete utter slap in the face to the original intent Bram Stoker set in place years ago. Bram Stoker's Dracula is also a love story, but it is more deeply involved, complex and much better written.

Twilight is just another example of current day thinking....all looks and no substance...which today's generation eats up.....take a look at any of the Twilight vampire cast pics and tell me they don't look like a Gap comercial video shoot pic. lol

But...it is what it is....it makes tons of $$$$ and that's all that really matters to most in the industry.

Twilight is just a chick-flick, guys, chill out. These types of genre movies will always make money, no matter how shitty they are. (ala Transformers 2.) They've been doing it for years. And they will continue to do it. It doesn't mean we are witnessing the death of cinema. It means we are living in America, where even morons can hit the jack-pot. (Though it cannot be denied that the over-all quality of watchable films has been on a sharp decrease in the last 10-15 years.)

Oh yeah, anyone looking for some decent Vampire shit should check out HBO's True Blood. Seems pretty gay at first glance, but it is actually a pretty well-put-together show once you get into it. And they're pretty liberal with the titties too.

BUT...I think we are to a degree....your last statement is a testament to the idea of the death of good cinema. IF total shit like Trans1and2 and Twilight rake in millions....that is all Hollywood will churn out...it's going to get worse...much worse IMHO.

I've heard this from several people...but I can't get past the awful accents and Anna P. If you like Vampire shit, check out Gerillmo Del Toro's "Chronos"....really good and interesting take on the Vampire.

I've only seen a couple of scenes while flipping around cable, so it may have just been the particular actors/actress during the scenes...I know Anna P's sounds forced and over the top to me...but then again, I've never thought of her to be a real great actress.

Haha, I guess it's all relative. I'm talking about the DEEP south, like Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, New Orleans, and the Carolinas, lol. We consider Texas, New Mexico, Nevada, and Arizona, to be "out west" somewhere. (With Louisiana sort stuck somewhere in the middle.) Everyone else is just a damn yankee I guess, to some degree.

The accents on True Blood are closer to what I would consider to be a deep southern accent. The Texas accent is pretty unique, and I could see how hearing those accents on True Blood might throw you off.

I never thought much of Anna Paquin as an actor either, but when I saw her in that, I swore she must have been from Alabama originally. (Turns out she's a New Zealand born Canadian. Yikes!)

Anyway, as I said, I'd recommend the show for anyone whose interested in that sort of shit. I'm not a television person, either. I pretty much hate everything. So take that for what it's worth.

It's just not your cup of tea then....Drag Me to Hell is PURE Sam Raimi at his best , the insane spraying is one of his signature things. So is the cheezy special effects, this all goes back to his Evil Dead roots....if you watch those, you will totally get all of the nonsense in Drag Me to Hell. It's also not meant to be 100% scary...Raimi has always loved the combination of horror with comedy....with more of an emphasis on comedy in his later works.

Evil Dead 1 was pretty scary to me....II and Army of Darkness were more comedy. Although II despite the comedy did a number on me when I was real young....Henrietta in the celler was a scary mofo to me back in the day! lol

I couldn't of put it any better..Evil Dead 1 was bad ass and it's obvious he tries to mix comedy with horror to give it his own special feel to movies..
