Pacquiao is always exciting to watch in all his fights,....but Clottey made many boxing fans (many of them his countrymen) disappointed....What makes that double punch of Pacquiao illegal...?..will that be illegal in UFC as well..?.. somebody educate me please..?...
Fitz
I have no idea why it is, though it shouldn't. He is using his gloves and is punching.
Thegreatequalizer
i think that was a bad call by the ref. i think he just assumed it was illegal. or maybe it's considered a "push" if both gloves are touching the opponent, but i don't see anything in the rules about that. it's also possible that it's the way pac threw it, kind of around to each side of the head, similar to that (pro) wrestling move where the guy slaps behind his opponent's head, thereby getting said head squished by the slapping arms. (whereas when emanual augustus threw a double punch a few years ago, his punches were both straight on) but i didn't see anything about that in the rules either. ???

And leaves himself open to twice the danger of being countered.

Exactly, though I don't think he was ever in danger of being countered last night.

I could have done it to Clottey last night. Just go outside and try it on your heavybag. That's how easy it is.

32? Prey tell how did they arrive at that number? Did the police take a poll?

On a side note.. do you really usually have heavybag's hanging outside in Australia?
Fitz
It's illegal to hang abo's, so usually not.

Had to google what abo's is, excuse my ignorance. Learned something new, and damn that was harsh, lol.
Fitz
Just kidding guys. I think abo's are great, and everybody should have one.

And yet even harsher.

Kidding again. No seriously, I have nothing against the aboriginals. They just make for some good jokes. They produce very exciting footballers and I don't mind the original ones down to their roots. It's just that a lot of them now are bitter people, and spend all their government money on alcohol which is why they get criticised a lot, but I actually don't have a problem with them.

I actually hung my old punching bag outside for my little sister to use.

I thought the double punch was more of a "quit covering up so much and fight me" move.
Done more out of frustration but realized he shouldn't have done it so he smiled and apologized for it to attempt to show his sportsmanship.

Our Native Americans used to be known as drunks as well...but then they started building casinos on the preservations, and now they're richer than the white man!

I don't feel that bad for taking their land now... laugh.gif

I was nodding in and out of the fight, fell asleep for a round, what did he do, a Sam Peter/Fats Botha double punch to the eardrums?

Yeah, I remember that the Abo's stayed drunk the whole time I was down there.
Fitz
That's the thing. Here in Victoria, I don't see as many abo's as up north. But they get benefits and payments from the government, they got an apology last year. Most of them decide not to work, and a lot spend their money on alcohol rather than work.
Though I really don't have a problem with them. I think I have more of a problem with the ones that refuse to work and get drunk, but that is purely on them as a person and not race. I actually really like and am intrigued by the ones that have kept to their roots and are still like the native ones. But the ones that get drunk the whole time usually give them a bad name for all.

LMAO. Fucked up bro...

I had a Native American professor who swore that they were genetically predisposed to being alcoholics, which I don't know if it's true, but there does seem to still be a high rate of alcoholism in that community. And while a few Native Tribes have made profit from the reservation casinos, I still think the majority of them are horribly impoverished. They're kind of the forgotten race here in the States.

I was smiling all along as I read this thread... I did not expect the topic I posted about Pacquiao's illegal punch (?) will reach the abo's...hahaha...

I love Native American culture..I have a lot of NA things..They made/make a lot of dope stuff..I also have heard that they are predisposed to being alcoholics..Drinking has a part in the culture and long ago a lot of Native American children had man complications because the mother would keep drinking while pregnant..There is a book that I had to read for school that is all about this problem and a single man adopted an Native American boy with a disease and didn't even know he had it till he started growing up and he was having a lot of problems in school..It was a real good book and was also a true story(the author was the single dad with the boy)..
