Sup All,

On paper at least and however long these fights last, I cannot recall what has the potential to really be fireworks in both matches for a very very long time in two back-to-back power-punching, NON Pay-Per-View fight. It are matches like this that make me proud and honored to be a boxing fan because with all the crappy PPV's, this fight is FREE for Showtime subscribers. A match that there is no way in hell that HBO would do for free!

Anyway, the poll for the "The Little Warriors" goes up now! The poll will be only for the main event because we can only do one poll per topic. But considering that this "Once and For All" has the potential to be another FOTY along with an undercard for FOTY you can make your picks and predictions now!

I didn't need to see this fight...but since it's happening, I'm rooting for and picking Marquez...I think he has more left....

I don't know I kind of see this fight for Marquez the way I would have seen Morales should he have stepped in there for Pacquiao IV or Barrera IV. After both of those trilogies clearly Morales was the worse for wear walking away from them... I kind of feel like Marquez is worse off than Vasquez at this point. Both guys only fought once in 2 years leading up to this so maybe they will be slightly refreshed, but my gut says Vasquez by stoppage.

3 was enough...

That said, I am sure this will be a great fight, and if Marquez wins, expect a 5th.

I cannot even fathom what will happen...we have seen so little of them recently, I mean, where do you even begin to break this fight down?

In a strange way, this is like betting on pre-season football.

Voted for Marquez by close decision. Expect another war. (What else could it be?) I have about a 55% shot for Marquez and a 45% shot for Vasquez. I think that Marquez has a little more left.

i had to go with vasquez...

Both have seen better days but should still put on another classic. Marquez is the more versatile fighter i see him outboxing Izzy and takeing a close but well deserved decision.
Hops
These kinds of brutal fights have a higher probability of killing someone on the ring. But okay, since I love beatdowns and knockouts, I'll watch. Voted for Marquez, though.

Abner will be in very tough this saturday for his first title bid i would'nt be suprised to see Perez take the youngster to school.

Anyone got the details about tomorrow's weigh in?

Man, I really am not feeling this fight right now. I just get the feeling that both these guys have taken so much out of each other that they're done. Much like how Corrales and Castillo were never the same, I feel these guys are in that same boat. I hope they're paying them well though because they really deserve it. Both are warriors, and it should be another slugfest Sat. night. Power and heart are the last things to go in a fighter. Both have super large hearts, but Vazquez is a lot stronger and powerful than Marquez. This has been apparent in the last two fights, and it will very apparent in this one. Marquez's skills have diminished, and he won't be able to keep Vazquez off of him. He'll wear down, and Vazquez will stop him in the middle rounds.

Im suprised most people here are going with Vasquez i think Marquez is the more versatile fighter if he can stick to his game plan(which won't be easy by teh way)i see him outboxing Izzy.

He is absolutely the more versatile boxer. I just think they're both so faded and past their best it won't matter. I think the question is will Marquez have the legs and reflexes to outbox Izzy. Also, he tried to box more in the 3rd fight, and had some success. However, it still didn't matter. I agree, if Marquez has anything left he can outbox Vazquez.
Thegreatequalizer
vazquez was close to stopping marquez in the first fight until his broken nose forced him to quit. then he came back and won the next two fights. i see no reason for this fight to be much different. marquez may be more versatile, but vazquez is mentally stronger and his pressure will make marquez wilt.

Great fight. I'm looking forward to this more than the main event. At sportsbook.com the odds are about exactly even (Mares -120, Perez -110).

Hard fight to call.

In the first two fights I picked Marquez to win. In the third I picked Vazquez. I re-watched the third fight, and I scored it the same as the first time I watched it. 6-6 in rounds, but with the knockdowns and the point deduction it's 113-112 Vazquez. That point deduction Marquez received for that borderline low blow was bogus though. That fight should have been a draw. That would've been the best call.

Like others have said, this fight is hard to call because these guys haven't fought in a long time. I have a feeling though that Marquez has more left. I base this mostly on watching Vazquez's last fight against Priolo. Vazquez struggled in that fight, and Priolo had been brutally dominated in his last six fights. Priolo was peppering him with punches, and I can't help but wonder what Marquez would do with his laser jab and solid right hand. Yeah, there's a chance Marquez doesn't have the legs anymore either, but I think he's going to fight very disciplined in this one. I think Marquez will stop Vazquez late in the fight after multiple knockdowns.

Marquez TKO 10

Izzy wins by KO like he did in the second fight. He's still just a little too big for Rafa...
Al Hata

Can't wait to have Gus Johnson call this fight. Gonna be awesome.

kyle no matter how shot these guys may be they are always going to bring out the best in each other... their styles mesh to make the perfect pier 6 brawl every time....
