Maxboxing ran a great article on Caleb Truax. It is basically a first hand account of what he went through on fight day and through fight night. I thought it was fantastic insight into the day of a prospect coming up, who doesn't have HBO following him around with cameras.

I used to train with Caleb, and always thought he would have a bright future even when we were amateurs. I sparred with him a few times, and was able to get a few shots in, but he was one solid boxer. Me and a few others in the gym thought he could make noise on the local scene even back in 06. He's one hell of a guy, and really makes a good name for this sport. He went and got his degree at the U of M, and doesn't get into trouble outside the ring. Anyway, here's the link to the article.

If anybody has stories about local boxers they've gotten to know over the years I'd love to hear them. Whether you sparred, were friends, or just shared the gym, those are priceless memories.
