GENERAL FIGHTHYPE FORUM RULES AND GUIDELINES

1.) Treat users and staffers with respect: This keeps and maintains a positive rapport throughout our website, and encourages others to join our community.
2.) No name-calling, racist, abusive, threatening, discriminating language, or sexual harassment is to be used to any Fight-Hype users or staffers. These actions are intimidating, disrespectful, and do not encourage others to join our community. Additionally, no abusive language should be used toward any posters or staffers because they happen to like or hate certain fighters! We are all boxing fans and we each have our unique likes and dislikes for fighters. It is fine to disagree, but if you do so, please do it in a professional manner. Treat others with respect! Disrespect or discrimination toward any posters or staffers will result in verbal warnings, suspensions, or banning of a users account depending on the severity of the offense. Repeated warnings will result in harsher penalties.
3.) Do not spam the forum with links to advertisements, malicious site URLs or any items that represent a threat to our community or its members. These actions represent spamming or trolling. Users found to spam or troll the forum will be banned without warning!
4.) Users MUST ALWAYS use pre-existing topic threads on our forums to reply to topics. Duplicate topics are not permitted. Pointless threads and topics are prohibited.
5.) Users should only create new topic threads if there is no pre-existing topic about the same discussion already on the forums. The topic must represent potential for a quality discussion. All topics must relate to boxing in the boxing forums, and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) in the MMA forums. Topics representing spam, or just being there without substance or quality for the community will be locked or deleted, Users who create such topics that are disruptive or disturbing to the community will face disciplinary action. (i.e Warnings, suspensions, or bans.)
6.) Use the Pin-Up Round By Round Discussion Threads Provided For On-Going and Post-Fight Results. Note that they are there to keep the information about the fights organized and consolidated to create a real-time environment as the action takes place and for post-fight discussion. All Pay Per View, HBO, and Showtime Boxing Matches will be pinned, Other bouts may be pinned at the discretion of moderators and administrators on the basis of their importance and significance to the community.
7.) Round-by-Round/Post Fight reaction threads are generally pinned for at least 24-48 hours to provide ample time for discussion and to allow everyone to see the fight and contribute to the pinned up thread. Threads may be unpinned after that period, or pinned longer if a match is determined by the community to be of historical importance, extremely exciting, or controversial in some way. Important announcements for forum and web-site operations, may be pinned up for an indefinite period of time.
8.) NEVER GIVE AWAY A FIGHT SPOILER IN A THREADS' TITLE! NEVER TALK ABOUT A FIGHT TAKING PLACE ON ANOTHER NETWORK IN A DISCUSSION THREAD! Never knowingly give false information about a fight's results. Thread Spoiler Warnings MUST be in any topic's title and the spoiler results MUST always be inside the thread. No exceptions. Use this type of format:
(Thread Title) (Jones vs. Smith)-SPOILER. (Spoilers are always inside the thread) OR reply within our Round-by-Round and Post-Fight pinned up threads, which will look something like this:
HBO@10(ET)/7(PT) Jones vs. Smith: SPOILERS (SPOILERS ARE ALWAYS INSIDE THE THREAD!!!)
In rare cases, where an on-going SPOILER thread topic is not on the board, users may create a spoiler thread using the format above, provided that:
A.) The word SPOILER is in the topic title
B.) The results of the contest are always inside the thread's title and NEVER outside of the thread.
9.) Create new threads ONLY if there is no existing thread about your intended discussion. Make sure that the thread you create contributes a quality discussion to our community.
10.) Please do not post threads that display complaints or grievances about other forum members or staffers in the forums. Individual grievances should be submitted to staff by the use of Private Messaging or E-Mail if the staffer has chosen to make their e-mail public. For security reasons, we reserve the right not to accept any e-mails/PMs that contain attachments, or are of a rude or disrespectful nature.
10.B) Please do not come to our forums, to whine, bleat, and bitch about any individual negative experience with other forums or websites. Those issues should be taken up with the assistance of that particular forum's administration.
11.) Only ONE account per user is permitted! This is to make our forums easier to manage and to allow better assistance in troubleshooting accounts. IF ANY USERS ARE SUSPENDED FOR FORUM MISCONDUCT, AND YOU ARE CAUGHT TRYING TO LOG IN USING ANOTHER ACCOUNT SCREEN-NAME, WE WILL RESERVE THE RIGHT TO BAN YOU FROM FIGHTHYPE.COM INDEFINITELY. IN ISOLATED CASES, WE ONLY PERMIT THE USE OF A SECOND ACCOUNT WHEN WE RECEIVE NOTICE THAT THE MAIN ACCOUNT IS PROBLEMATIC. WE WILL WORK TO RESTORE THE ORIGINAL ACCOUNT YOU HAD AT REGISTRATION. IF WE CANNOT DO THAT, YOU WILL HAVE THE TEMPORARY ACCOUNT AS YOUR NEW PRIMARY ACCOUNT.
Users who are using temporary accounts who do not inform us of which account they want to keep will have one account deleted by staff, (the one with the fewest posts.) if we do not hear from you within 72 hours (3 days) in deciding what account you want to keep.
12.) Please Do Not Link to PPV only or Subscription Materials. Such links/URL's will be deleted and posts of this nature may have a negative affect on your standing with our community. Respect copyright information. Also DO NOT directly copy stories from other sites to FightHype.com without ALSO providing the link to where the story originated. The link and story MUST NOT ORIGINATE FROM ANY PPV or subscription service or it will be deleted and users will be warned about this.
13.) Please Do Not Post Any URL's without a 1-2 sentence summary of what they are about. (i.e What will we be seeing when we visit the page?) Summations such as "This is cool!" or "Check this Out!" are NOT acceptable. This practice is used by us in an effort to eliminate spam. Use care before posting links. All copyright rules as stated above must and will be respected by our community!
14.) No Pornography or Excessively Violent Images (i.e torture, animal cruelty) are permitted on the forums. This is because we have minor children who frequent the forums, and we don't want anyone to be subjected to a "gross out situation" or an embarrassing situation on a public computer. We used to allow PG-13 content with a subject warning, but no more. People were getting into trouble at work because of this. Users who violate this rule, will be subject to moderator/administrator reprimands.
