Mayweather Acquitted

This is one of the easy ones, that could clearly be framed as a consequence of an argument with a celebrity.

Next up is the trial for allegedly poking that dude in the face (which, as a man, I find hysterical that someone brought charges for some shit like that). The hearing is set for next week, as referenced in the article. While Mayweather shouldn't be putting his hands on people, the guy is clearly just looking to get some money from Floyd.

On December 21st Floyd will stand trial for a preliminary hearing in the Josie Harris case, which is the most serious of the lot since he's up for battery and grand larceny. That's the one that will be interesting to follow.

Lastly, there's the civil lawsuit that's been filed by the 2 would-be-victims of the shootings by Mayweather's associate, O.C. Harris. O.C. 's trial is set for February 2012 and it is unknown as to when the civil trial for Floyd is.

There are also several minor lawsuits regarding charges filed by people who claim that Mayweather's bodyguards and entourage have been beating up a lot of people at nightclubs and casinos. These are simple situations, as it can never be definitely proven in a court of law that Mayweather gave the order to his people to beat up so-and-so person.

What is interesting though, is if the bodyguards, or O.C. Harris have a change of heart and testify in court that Floyd explicitly gave them the orders to open fire, or attack people.

Like you said, the most serious one is the Josie Harris case, so I expect all the other ones to disappear just as this one has. Truth be told, I wouldn't be shocked to see nothing come out of the Harris case either.

That case, from a legal arguments perspective, has some interesting facets:

Who were the parties present ? By all accounts, it appears to have been Josie Harries, the children, Floyd and one of Floyd's bodyguards who was reportedly blocking the door or something to that effect.

What exactly will Harris claim in her testimony ? The exact details are very important. Will the children be called to the stand ? Are they deemed old enough to give reliable testimony ? Assuming that they do give testimony, how easy or difficult would it be for Mayweather's legal team to poke holes in their words and drive the conclusion that Harris "coached up" the kids to support her version of the events ?

In Harris' case, how much can her past be called into question ? After all, this is the same woman who basically said in court that she had lied when charges of battery had been pressed against Floyd in the alleged incidents of years past.

Will Mayweather's bodyguard be called and if so, can he give a valid and relatively bulletproof testimony ?

Here's the clincher: the physician who examined Harris. Will they testify and if so, will it be possible to definitively prove that Josie Harris was beaten that night ?

The lawyers have their hands full with this one. If he did what he is charged for, Mayweather should face the law and justice should be carried out. I'd be lying though, if I said that I didn't want him to be exonerated, because I love watching the guy fight.

We've seen this many times before...they will throw as much shit on the wall as possible, and one thing is sure to stick, if that. Im surprised Roger got away with the battery case against him, and he pretty much admitted that he did it, in so many words. I thought he was done as well. I was also wondering how FMJ had all of children with him throughout the press tour and so forth, if he allegedly hit/threatened them during the incident...well one or two of them anyway, cant remember all of the details.

No he wouldnt because CPS would have barred him from seeing them until the case was over. if it was that serious. Since there nt in it. I can pretty much gauruntee that part he doesnt have to worry about. Just harris case. and if there are no pictures because cops take pictures after such events. it will be hard for her to prove it would be heresay.

Yeah that's a great point. If there was that kind of exhaustive restraining order put on Mayweather by Josie Harris and the mother of 2 of his children, who he allegedly threatened, then there's no way that all 4 of the kids would be traveling with their dad during the press tour for the Ortiz fight. I was at the New York press event and even saw Victor, Temo, Floyd and his kids all jointly pose for a family picture.

Well, Bob Arum was very vocal in that interview that he did with Radio Rahim. Rahim asked him plain, is that the only thing holding up the fight (was Floyd's cases), his response was yes. He was saying who knows if Floyd's even going to be around next year. 'He's got some real problems'. What's real problems? 2 Misdemeanors, 1 just got aced, another will get aced, and the felony case might not even hold up at the felony hearing in December. I'd hardly call those 'real problems'. Who goes to jail for 34 years for a domestic violence incident? Wasn't Roger's case a domestic violence incident? He choked the chick, and was facing 10 years? How many years did he get out of it? I know, NONE. Nevermind the fact that the Pactards would rather Floyd be in jail, so they know their hero is safe from the humiliation of getting owned by the best of the best. Nevermind that, that's not important enough. So, Bob Arum is running his mouth again. Talking about Floyd doesn't have a chin. Talking about Floyd fears Manny's right hand. Talking about Floyd would get KO'd by Manny Pacquiao inside of 4 rounds. I think he should stop talking to the press, get on the phone with Floyd's people, and make it happen. He also said that the drug testing hasn't been an issue for a year and a half so, stop talking about something if you have no intentions on reaching out to make the fight happen. If Manny's going to take the test, then send Floyd the same contract he signed before, and Manny signs the contract with his agreement to the randoms. I'm all ears and this situation has my undivided attention.

That's exactly what I'm saying. He's talking that shit so he needs to be on that phone. The story changes by the hour with these guys. I'm not even trippin' off that anymore. I know the pactards are reading even if they don't post, so I'm just going to provoke them into saying something stupid. A task I know shouldn't be difficult at all. They take Bob Arum on his word if they continue to say that Floyd ducked his 3 fighters. The cases excuse doesn't fly. We know cases and casework. Floyd will be a free man for March or May. If he's going to get knocked out inside of 4 rounds by Manny's right hand, then that should be the extra push to make the fight happen. If they agreed to the tests, like he says they did, then we should be set. It's not going to be Floyd that makes the excuse. He wants one thing. The 50/50 is something he already agreed to. Get on the phone and talk business with Floyd's team, agree to the tests, and get ready to meet him in the ring. Don't make anymore excuses.
