I felt Dawson won and it's not even debatable...
I was however shocked at how well a 47 year man could move, Hopkins was slick and landing those right hands
I was impressed with Hopkins
yes he used dirty tactics but he was on point
I enjoyed the fight and loved how Dawson payed homage to Hopkins at the end
very classy as always....

am a Hopkins fan and even I couldn't see a draw let alone a win for him, that 114-114 card was obviously so it didn't look like the legend was shut out

My ONLY question is:
WTH were the other 15 watching?

Hopkins got schooled. IT was different from the Taylor and Calzaghe fights. He didn't just get outworked or outlanded. Dawson outboxed him. I appreciated Bernard Hopkins for his ring savvy, hard work, dedication and knowledge of the sport. However, he handled himself like a cry baby. He got that ass whooped and he should have handled the loss way better. This was not a hard fight to score.

hopkins got his ass handed to him by a younger/better fighter. there was a reason he avoided chad for all those years...and there's a reason he faked injury in that last fight. u all saw why on saturday. that was the most convincing loss he's had since the jones fight. his cheating tactics...the constant head butting and all the bullshit he gets away with is pathetic.

I had the fight even, 7-5 Dawson at worst for Bernard.

Yeah there is no way around it...Dawson made Hopkins look uncomfortable and neutralized his best qualities. Dawson earned the belt fair and square

Dawson is NOT a better fighter. He may be younger, more athletic, but not more skilled. You've been a Hopkins hater for years, on this and other message boards, and never give him any due, so NOW you crowing about his defeat. I see others giving him due, hell Dawson gave him his due, and never had him in serious trouble, but yet he "got his ass handed to him". Really? you talking about him faking injuries and avoiding a fighter who can't/won't draw flies. Won't you admit you hate Hopkins and save everybody's time? BTW, who are YOU training?

I was serious though. I didn't see this dominant, clear-cut Dawson win. He looked great in some spots late, when he was landing those sneaky lead uppercuts, but it's a 12 round fight. Bland and mostly uneventful. Even or maybe 7-5 Dawson when I saw it live.

Bottom line..the damn near 50 year old Hopkins was not dominated by Dawson.. and correctly put - Dawson is not a better fighter than Hopkins. Styles make fights and style wise the younger dawson is a tough fight for Hopkins to win, yet at 47 he is damned good still very competitive. getting in the ring at 47 and going the distance in a championship fight is an accomplishment in and of itself. something Dawson will never come close to duplicating
