A Miami Clinic Supplies Drugs to Sports Biggest Names

QUOTE
Or consider Yuriorkis Gamboa, a rising boxing star who won a gold medal for Cuba in the 2004 Athens Olympics before defecting to Miami two years later. Gamboa has compiled a 22-0 record and has won WBA and IBF featherweight titles since coming to the States.

In the 2009 notebook, Bosch outlines an extensive program he was shipping to Gamboa. In addition to protein powders and calcium/magnesium/zinc compounds, he included a six-day-a-week HGH regime, IGF-1, and a cream with 20 percent testosterone.

What's more, Bosch even notes that Gamboa's next bout is scheduled against Brandon Rios the following April and writes, "Start clean-up Dec. 1" presumably giving the boxer enough time to pass doping tests. (The fight against Rios was later canceled, but Gamboa won two other fights by TKO and KO that January and February.)

well well well.............

Interesting stuff.

Again, I regress back to the days that Mandatory Random Testing was being promoted by Floyd Mayweather Jr and how people were saying he was scared of Pac and using that as an excuse for the fight not to take place. It should be apparently obvious that Floyd and those in the inner circles of this sport has knowledge that doping is taking place and is now more prevalent than ever before.

All I have to say is "What's Up Now??"

Remember Gamboa represents a small microcosm of those who have been caught or exposed so you can only imagine that there are numerous others who are doing it and haven't gotten caught or exposed.

THE LIST:
WACH
GAMBOA
JONES JR
TARVER
TONEY
PETERSON
MOSLEY

Please feel free to add to the list, I'm sure that I've missed a few but everyone gets the gist of this. The only odd thing that really sticks out to me about this list is that most of the list contains African Americans or other minority fighters, I wonder why???

Lamont was cleared I believe. The amount he consumed wouldn't have had any effect whatsoever in training camp or in the fight.

i've never been a fan of these "strength and conditioning coaches." they usually have some gimmick and don't know shit about boxing. there are no short cuts!!! i hope everyone involved in this gets what they have coming.

Son of a muthafu-...

C'mon man, this is REALLY getting out of hand here.

If you're a puny little prick that cant stay in shape or muster up God-given strength to knock a guy out, then get the fuck outta the sport. Seriously. It's hard to sit and listen to fighters bitch and moan about taking care of their families during and after their careers, but yet, you're willing to fuck up another fighter, who's trying to do the same for his family.

Gamboa has fought a list of somewhat no-hopers, or C-level fighters at best, and he had to dope up for that?! As if being able to legally punch a man in the head and body isn't enough...guys just HAVE to add some extra mustard to it.

I'm almost sure that we'll see somebody die in the ring, before this PED stuff is taken seriously. It's almost worse than those shitty parents who constantly yell to their children, "Do it again, and I'm gonna whip your ass", but as soon as the child does something that either warrants legal involvement, or they get seriously hurt, THAT'S when mofos wanna suddenly employ discipline and be parental figures. Smh

Mark my words, someone will get their brains knocked clean out of their skulls, into the 5th or 6th row, then the commissions will take this seriously.

Maybe he got it from his promoter who use to be a roid user. I hope this is not true I actually like Gamboa. he has had bad advice and its too bad because he has talent. I guess Olympic Style testing is a solution to a problem no one wants to solve. Either way the Filipino Flab will be held as the cleanest athlete in the sport and his name will become larger because of it. Win win for Nonito.

who 50? there talking about all the way back to the never happened Rios fight, and I doubt Arum would give him it, if he had to juice someone it'd be Rios since he relies more on his physical prowess

I am talking about now.. I saw one Gamboa fight and I was impressed. the article I am not sure about. Why release this information now? When shit has already happened? Doesn't make sense.
mgrover
the article is talking that they planned for the Rios fight and all

The info is coming out now cause a whole bunch of other athletes just got outed by this clinic. But this sucks for Gamboa, he just nearly got kod hasn't been active and hasn't made a name for himself at all to put himself in a position for a big fight.
Gambit808
Makes u wonder how many fighters are currently still in to doping as we speak. You'd think that with all of these athletes still being caught, would have some sort of an effect on these dope heads, but I guess if they're risking their lively hood in the ring, they'll find no shame in risking everything they work for or represent. SMH. A dark cloud is over sports nowadays.

50 is SICK right now, SICK. To think he was dissing Floyd saying he lost a 100 mil after Pac Marquez 4. Lmao this nigga 50 has a head phone line named after Gamboa called "Street by Gamboa" smh. Turns out he's the one that lost millions by investing in a dopee. Imagine if Gamboa would've fought and beaten Rios or Broner on that shit smh that would've been foul. But whats so crazy is Gamboa was probably taking these PEDs to beat c-level fighters that were STILL knocking him down. No question that as a hold medalist hes talented but now his professional career is sus. Sucks for Gamboa but he made his bed and now he has to sleep in it.

And someone mentioned the case of Floyd taking heat for encouraging OSDT and today everyone's beginning to realize that's what the sport needs. And what's so crazy is Floyd made it clear that he wants OSDT. He gave no credence to the drug testing of these different SAC because he probably knew for years before it was even an issue that these fighters were getting away with attempted murder under the influence if PEDS..RSPECIALLY as an ex top rank fighter. Each state has its own commission so nothing in terms of drug testing will be done for the sport of boxing until they make drug testing in boxing a FEDERAL issue. As for the sanctioning bodies, as much as they rape their fighters they have a moral responsibility of randomly providing OSDT to their contenders and champions. I feel as though that's the only way things will get resolved because ultimately every fighter is fighting to become a world champion.

I with all these scams being exposed, fighters like Floyd and Nonito will go down in history for keeping the integrity if the sport and changing the landscape. Now I really want to see Broner fuck Gamboa up if these allegations are true.

What? Where have you seen street by Gamboa? If that's true, that's a bigger loss then Rick Ross car getting shot up lol.... As for Gamboa, if the reports are true then I hope that he gets punished in the ring. There is no room for cheaters, especially in a sport like this. The unfortunate part in all this is that the commissions won't do a thing about it. If this was MLB or the NBA, etc. then we could expect some form of punishment, but not boxing.

MMA and boxing are 2 sports that don't handle these situations the way they should be. They won't start addressing the issue until someone is brutally beaten and the fighter comes up positive for PED's

Its ironic because you'd think drug testing would be strict in contact sport.

It wouldn't be long before somebody on the east coast got caught up like this. No surprise here, but something's telling me that this doctor wont get off as easy as Conte did...and there wasn't much easy about his consequences.

W/o a positive test, MLB, NBA nor NFL would/could NOT do anything about it. The only thing that could be done, by way of punishment, is in the court of public opinion. Think about it: How many games did MLB suspend Barry Bonds for his "alleged" use? Exactly.

True, but you also have to look at Manny Ramirez getting suspended and also take into account all the known PED users who were up for induction in the hall of fame this year. And NONE of them got in. The court of public opinion has some benefits too, and when a positive test is triggered look what happens. Suspension, fine, and ultimately shame
mrchitown
And Bonds may have not gotten suspended but how many games or teams did he play for after that info came out? None, in the end they all got or are getting what they deserve. I think they made an example out of Bonds
