Common will be the voice for the narration. Great choice and a new idea. I really wonder how Showtime will show a different Mayweather. I wonder if Robert will come across like an egotistical Christian asshole? Either way I am excited. We should keep this Thread open until the final Camp 360. I would love to hear yawls perspective on how the first episode as well as the ones to follow goes and how it compares to 24/7. Enjoy fellas (and ladies if there are any out there).

Guerrero came across like a bitter person which is not a good look. All the shit he was saying sounded more jealous than anything. It reminded me of the scene from Harlem Nights when the cop was in Sugar's Ray apartment and he was pissed of all the things Sugar Ray hand. Damn shame. Kids not only look up to Mayweather Guerrero, so do other boxers, are they wrong?

Common did a pretty good job.

Mayweather was seen in a different light. Not as much flashy which is cool. I liked hearing from both his father and uncle. Interesting enough Miss Jackson was missing, Mr. Chitown and DaProfessor, told she has been given her walking papers. Good first episode.

Bruh, you just won me some money lol. My girl said you wouldn't open in another Mayweather thread and I told her you would, she be over my shoulder watching me post sometime. Obviously she didn't pay attention because you always starting Floyd threads. She pissed she got to pay me now laugh.gif

With that said, we got to merge these Mayweather-Guerrero threads, it's too many of them right now. And change the thread title, it's all access not fight camp 360

Having Common as the narrator was a great decision, his voice was perfect for the series. Seeing Mayweather go back to his original stomping grounds was nice, when I saw Guerrero pushing his truck in that field I could see why he carried his gun, he looks like he likes to have fun and relax that way

I think my suspicions were correct about his training and all these media obligations. He was visibly frustrated with the media requirements, he admitted that he needed to train and said it was 2 days or something like that of him doing the media rounds. But I can't wait to see the next episode where Floyd talks about him getting arrested

The whole episode he was talking about humbling and that mess happens. What makes me like Guerrero is his devotion to his wife, he has to be commended for that. I'm glad her cancer is in remission and just hearing her talk about it was sad to me..Oh and he better get that Olympic medal out that house if he wants to ever see it again laugh.gif But don't let Grandma Mayweather catch you cuz she'll crack yo muthafuckin head laugh.gif

Just saw it.. sure knows how to build suspense.

Mayweather really is at the pinnacle of Boxing, I thought he had money problems, but damn. Loved seeing his Grand mother and his lil bit in Grand Rapids. Always gotta remember where you came from. "I won alotta money because of you, money team!". I didn't know Broner was at the commercial shooting "You took my easy work!" haha these dudes be clowning.

Guerrero does seem really determined, he seems like he could be a cool dude, i like him more than ortiz. He got played on that 2 day media blitz. When he was out those 48+ hours, Mayweather with his 3-a-days already workout 6 more times than him. And has been ahead, Guerrero was looking too flabby at the commercial, I dont get why people only go to training camp right before the fight. Thats stupid, cramming like that is like studying for a test the day before, he still have 3 weeks but he needs to stop worrying all about Mayweather and just worry about himself.

They gonna sell the **** outta this fight.

You knew it wouldn't be right if Dolimite wasn't the first to open this thread, but yeah man, this is like your 6th Mayweather thread since the fight's been announced. It's all good though!

Anyhow, it was pretty much what I expected, flashy Mayweather, dull opponent. I can't truly give Robert the "dull" title, because he was talking some smack, and his arrest actually added some substance to the segment.

I personally feel like they should've left us hanging when they showed JFK and said that Robert had been arrested...it would've kept viewers at the edge of their seat til episode 2.

Though Robert isn't the most marketable opponent, Floyd's team knows how to market his fights. The whole CBS/Showtime deal, the arrest, and the layoff has given this fight a story line and a reason to be somewhat interested. I'm surprised that they showed more of Robert training, than they did Floyd's training...highly unusual.

Seriously though, I almost wanted to come to tears when I saw Robert's wife and the shit that she has to go through. I just though that she was completely cancer free, or is that considered "in remission" nowadays? Help me out here. I almost came to tears (of anger) when they doc told that I had to take blood pressure meds (which I no longer have, it was actually anxiety problems), because I know what that shit does to your body over time.

She has to take a million types of meds, and the side-effects/long-terms effects were actually worse than the cancer, or so it seemed. Sheesh. Other than that, Guerrero got stuck with the smoking gun with that press tour nonsense. That dude looked tired as hell, but I'm sure he'll pull through it...if there aren't any more tours left for him to attend.

Me and Professor chopped it up about Robert not letting the press and obligations throw him off course, but it's a catch 22...either you make the most of the platform (which happens to be the biggest platform of his career), or you could decline it all and miss out. It's a hard decision to make. We all saw Ortiz fall victim to those media obligations, but what doesn't make that dude fold? LOL

PS: Is it me, or does Showtime just know how to make shit look super serious? Maybe it's their production quality or somethin', but the Michigan scene with snow made the whole segment look serious as hell. I mean serious in a cool way. 24/7 seemed a bit too flashy, regardless of which fighter was on it. "It had that whole "Yes, we're the best sports documentary out right now" look going on.

Oh yeah, I totally forgot about that ass cowboy Broner being at the photo shoot. What a lame. Didn't he fold up like a little sissy when Guerrero got in his face a while back? He's just too much of a follower for me, sorry.

Has it been 6? This will be my last one promise. But they have been relevant. I liked Common's voice for this series. Robert just came across as a prick. And when has boxing been a gentleman's sport? That is called golf and tennis. I enjoyed seeing Senior Guerrero, that hat brought back memories of the old school Mexican low riding gangsters. Floyd was Floyd but turned down, which was refreshing. Good to see Sr. and Roger in the gym. Floyd's build looks massive.
leonthegee
Watching Guerrero train is like watching paint dry. I know this was shot weeks ago but Guerrero looks chubby. He doesnt look sharp at all. He doesnt look technically sound hitting the bag. Hes standing up too straight. His jab is lazy in fact I saw a couple of backhands. The difference in class is greater than I thought. If Guerrero makes it to the 9th round ill be surprized.

No cut, I'm Don King and your Larry Holmes laugh.gif

Floyd did some weight check in and he snapped a photo and he's at 148 and it's 20 plus days to the fight. He's obviously working hard, Guerrero did look out of shape but I can tell he was itching to train. He was loving making those media rounds until it started to interfere with him training

And he can say what he want, while I don't think Floyd spooked him, he was agitated by him. Common brought a refreshing element to the show as well...I saw Greenburg is behind All Access now, I'm sure HBO is shitting their pants now

I guess this is Chicago politics I been hearing so much of. Naw bro, I'm Arum and you can be any fighter cause I am still going to stick you. Bro, I ain't doctor Phil but you were suppose to go along with her. Cold showers from here on out bro.

Guerrero's wife was the most interesting character. She didn't seem to be in the spotlight. I always wondered why she never smiled, her face muscles are paralyzed. I was like damn. her story is compelling, however Guerrero wants a pat on the back for being with his wife, he was suppose to be there. Through sickness and in health. I wonder what cost more Guerrero's truck or home? I mean he has made enough to move his family in a nicer house, either he is cheap as hell or has been getting paid pennies. Next week's episode will be good. Showtime did an excellent job.
scdrking2
RG was already behind in terms of getting ready for the fight. Cant blame the media work as I am sure that was in the contract. You have to build your schedule around it and have enough total training days to not cheat yourself. Floyd looks like he is already in shape.

Clearly, you don't know the going rate for cancer treatment. You step foot in an ER for a cold, it's about $600....now, add chemo, radiation and miscellaneous dr. visits (notice I haven't even TOUCHED on daily medications) and you got very few choices to make. On top of that, they have kids.....did I mention his promoter's med. insurance (IF HIS PROMO PROVIDES THAT OPTION) probably sucks? Add all of that up and there you go.

Hell, did you see Trout's crib during the build up for the Cotto fight?

Nope, but I saw his fiance though!...wonder what the upkeep is for her! laugh.gif Just kidding, but damn, she's smoking hot! Oh yeah, I agree with the above points. People fail to realize that after serious health episodes like that, everything may sound like a victory story, but those bills are still gonna be there. That's why I laugh at people trying to put on an act about how much they love their children, but they don't tell people about the ass-chapping financial responsibilities that come along with it.

When people ask why I don't have children and actually have the nerve to try and make me look weird for not having them, I usually hit them with the "Fuck off" facial expression. I know how much it costs ME to live, so when I see these little kids walking around with Jordans and Polo on, but mommy has a mediocre job and bragging about being independent, I immediately realize that she probably fills out a 10-99 for her "3rd shift job".

Wait, what am I ranting for? dntknw.gif

How many fights has he had since then. I know how much the health care system is in and that is why I refused to be a part of that bullshit. Money should never be an indicator for how many lives that can be saved. But good old capitalism. They should be covered then again I have no idea what kind of insurance he has. Kids are very expensive. Daycare is a ripoff and to be honest so are diapers. My son cost me so much money not to mention his mother as well. I don't mind spending that money because is for a good cause.

I think drugs can harm a person more than they can help. All those drugs at one time and then the side effects are no joke either. There should a holistic way of treating some of this stuff. But Mrs. Guerrero is a strong woman, 2 kids plus cancer is a bitch. Plus she has to watch her husband take a pounding. It is a hard one to swallow, but God bless her. Lord knows I would be struggling.

He has milked the situation to death as far as his wife. But I can't dog him out because he showed devotion to her. My main issue and I always said that was that he used HER story to get ahead and gain brownie points.

Episode one was cool.

I figured it would be redundant but it gave off a different vibe than 24/7. Common did his thing. Guerrero does seem like a really cool dude as mentioned before. Ortiz was annoying but Guerrero is cool. The saddest part of the entire episode was seeing Casey talk about all the different medications she had to take then seeing their children. I'm glad Guerrero has his winning lottery ticket. I just hope those lawyer fees dont eat away at all the hard work he put to get to this point. As for Floyd..well Floyd is Floyd. Always focused. Always in shape. Was cool to see the Mayweather family working together as a team.

That media tour definitely took a tool on Guerrero however i dont think its anything that he can't handle. He understands that he's come to far to make any mistakes. I wish they'd give us some coverage on Mares/De Leon and Santa Cruz too.

As for the fight itself, it will do great numbers. I have never seen a fight promoted the way this fight is being promoted. On my way home from school today i saw 6 Mayweather-Guerrero banners on the MTA buses. Looks like showtime was willing to give Floyd whatever he wanted.

I agree with you. The man is a WW and could easily be at JWW if he fancied it. But what kills me is the guys that DEMAND he moves up. "Oh hes not challenging himself." The man is a boxer/businessman and hes 36. He moved up to 154 for Mega-Fights in Oscar and Cotto. Were talking about his two highest PPVs ever. Hes not moving up to fight Joe Smo from Bum Fuck Egypt. Theres a huge difference there. While at the same time they have no problem with guys like Canelo, Trout, PWill in his prime cutting 20 to 30 lbs to try and make weight. Where is all the lobbying for Andre Ward to moveup a division. Especially when hes already cleaned out his division. Instead hes looking at guys like Chavez Jr moving up.

The great fighters stay in shape. Mosley, Mayweather, Hopkins...I never really see them get super fat and then have to shed a bunch of pounds. "Stay ready so you don't have to get ready." Guerrero looked flabby as shit and the 1st episode of All Access made it seem as if he didn't start camp when he intended to. That could just be smoke in mirrors and editing though. That being said, I hope they show more of the guys training. I don't need to see the trumped up story lines anymore. We all know Floyd is flashy and his opponent is going to be painted as the sympathetic good guy. Let's move on. I wanna see what these guys are doing to prepare for the fight.

Since his wife's chemo, radiation, etc.? I'm sure 3 or 4, but here's what you may be overlooking: This is an ongoing thing. There is still a requirement for her nausea meds, anti-rejection meds, immunodeficiency drugs. As far as his insurance goes, I haven't the faintest, but I'd be willing to bet some serious scratch, it's not nearly enough. As far as the healthcare system goes in this country, well, let's just say, I'm a bit conflicted.....

Personally, both those houses looked the upper west side of Downtrodden to me. I can't decipher a winner b/t constipation and diarrhea. LOL. I don't mean to be callous, but rather highlighting, exactly how much money these dudes are NOT making, while I suspect their promoters are doing quite well...off of THEIR fights.

Soooo....I just watched this shit again, and I need you guys to help me out here...

Just how in the hell does Floyd Sr. manage to look older than his own mom? I mean, how is that even possible?

Since his wife's chemo, radiation, etc.? I'm sure 3 or 4, but here's what you may be overlooking: This is an ongoing thing. There is still a requirement for her nausea meds, anti-rejection meds, immunodeficiency drugs. As far as his insurance goes, I haven't the faintest, but I'd be willing to bet some serious scratch, it's not nearly enough. Where he lives is a farming community. A lot of migrant workers and non US citizens who work on the land. That area of Northern Cali is not the nicest but I think with the cost of living he could afford a better house. I mean apart of getting well is being around new fresh surroundings but who knows. I know that her pills are not joke and her meds probably are in the thousands a month. She just seems down. Even in the 700 club interview she seemed so uncomfortable. During All Success she just looked so uncomfortable. I liked her quiet strength. Guerrero seemed like a bitter asshole. But maybe that is what is the fire that gets him motivated and burning. So whatever works.

Our healthcare system is for profit. I was going to be a Pharmacist but when I found out how the drug companies operate I did a moral check and said screw that. I think the promoters are the biggest jerks out there. No other sport does the manager or agents get paid more than than the athletes. Something needs to change. It really does. Is Guerrero half white?

This Wednesday he will be featured a little more so I guess we can be better judges. Ms. Jackson has yet to make an appearance. Somebody got fired... I am hiring part time if she is interested. Tuesdays and Fridays, only from 10-11:40 pm and she needs to bring her own dinner, cause I don't feed them!

Bro, Sr. looks older than his mama...none of us on this mofo can manage to do that. If anything, our moms look "our age", but for us to look old as shit?! I hope that isn't the case here. laugh.gif

Right, I haven't seen Ms. Jackson yet. Hmmm....

You dont feed 'em? C'mon Dolimite, it 2013...at you can feed them frozen stir fry...or what I actually call, "Chicken Wallah!"...you heat up the grease, drop the frozen stri-fry in it, then "Wallah!"...dinner. LOL

You're right, I caaaan cook, but I wont cook for all of 'em. If she lays on her back, then she may get a turkey sandwich, on a slow day, a spam sandwich.

Stir Fry? So now I got to buy food for them? Hell naw, kitchen is closed at 9:30 pm! There is only two types of women I cook for my mother, sisters, aunts, my son's mother, and potentials. The ones that just have a warm mouth they can get a glass of water and a thank you because in the end if they had any dignity they would not let me treat as the two dollar and 25 cent ho's that they are. so hell no I don't take food out of my fridge to feed them. They better go to Jack in the box before they see me.

DURAN WAS a god in the ring-- something special. I recall people comparing Pac to Duran-- LMAO -- to even think of him on the same level should result in incarceration..

i remember when he first came on the scene....merchant made that comparison and i yelled 'blasphemy!!!' pac was special....but not duran special.

The Waffle House? Wow moving on:

Ms. Jackson made an appearance so I guess she is still on the payroll. Honestly they are showing a toned down Mayweather, they are painting Guerrero to be an asshole. His father probably should not be bragging about being locked up in prison or jail, I don't care how big he thinks his balls are for doing that, its not like you are bragging about going to Harvard.

They are really trying to build this fight and Guerrero made that comment that he is younger and stronger. Cotto was younger and Ortiz was younger than you so youth means nothing. I will give him this he is confident and motivated and I like that. I hope he brings a good game plan and hell if he even pulls the upset (which I am not banking on) I would attribute his belief in himself, that is always good. I am sorry they do not have a faceoff type thing. Well fellas only two more weeks and we will know does skill beat belief and determination. On a side note, it seems the very thing that the Guerrero's want (father and son) are the very thing they are shitting on Floyd for having. Like their way of doing things is purer and better. GTFOH, to each its own.

Pretty good episode tonight. Of course you get some of the same stuff from Floyd, but this episode was better than the first.

I'm not sure about Sr telling Floyd to cut his workout short, but hell, Sr is older, so Im sure he knows how the body works. Guerrero and his dad are talking some major shit, cool!

The sad thing is, thought Guerrero and his dad "appear" comfortable with this new wave of exposure, it still seems to be a bit too much for them. It's almost like Guerrero's dad loves the spotlight, but both of them are secretly thinking, "Man Im done talking to the camera, I just wanna train and fight on the 3th".

I had no idea that 3 of Floyd's kids live in Cali, interesting.

PS: That scene with Floyd Sr singing that Johnnie Taylor song in the car, was too funny! laugh.gif Rueben is always funny, hands down. I just didnt agree with the whole jail talk of his...going to jail isn't cool, no matter where you're placed in there.

As much as I want the division to be shaken up, I just hope that Robert is in there moving comfortably, not game plan-like. He is a flatfooted fighter, but I like how he doubles up on his left too. If he's forced to move more than he's comfortable with moving, then that turns into a feinting contest, and we all know how that turns out in a Floyd fight.

Oh yeah, Dolimite, dont hate on the Waffle House! I eat at some pretty uppity spots, but the Waffle House always hits home! Hell, I just ate there last Sunday morning. Dont hate my brotha...dont hate. laugh.gif

Cool episode but in all honesty, I'm looking forward to the next one where Floyd talks about Guerrero's skills. He said some of the exact same things I've been trying to tell people about Guerrero, he fights too flat footed since he's moved up to welter. You WILL NOT beat Floyd that way and his best shot is to pressure Floyd and we all know Floyd feasts on them types

That whole younger stronger stuff is just talk, anyone with common sense knows that's not the end all be all because if that's the case the youngins would be running things but they not for the most part. That jail talk Reuben was spitting was wacker then a chief keef verse, he an old man talking like a bird bitch, shit's disgusting. Anybody who brags on jail like that needs to have their mental state examined...the more the Guerreo's talk the more I can't wait for them to take this L and take their paycheck and go back to obscurity

mayweather the executive producer of this show?

Waffle House hits when you are trying not to pass out. I actually like their pecan waffles but my spot for breakfast is Thumbs Up Diner, I love that place. I use to frequent Pastries A Go Go but I realized I hated their food and when one of m friends took me to Thumbs Up Diner, I was like this is the joint. But Waffle House isn't bad, hell Mayweather eats Taco Bell so what the hell. I was wondering who Sr. was singing to, Johnny Taylor! It was good seeing Roger. Real good.
